We arrived at a quaint rustic household setting, complete with a small fireplace and all sorts of antique bric-a-brac. We were greeted immediately by one of the most personable servers/hosts I have encountered in a long time. She had something positive to say about every dish. For the appetizer, we ordered the Reuben bites, expecting the usual deep fried egg rolls filled with Reuben meat, and were pleasantly surprised by tiny handmade empanadas, of sorts,filled with hand smoked and carved Ruben meat, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut, which was perfect. The corned beef in my wife's Reuben was lean and full of flavor, and our German potato salad was almost as good as what I make at home ;-)This was an extremely pleasant experience And it's a shame, really, since I live two states away. Clay Haus was a wonderful diversion from the usual restaurants. Absolutely recommended.
