Upon entering Our Hero, I was greeted by an atmosphere that could only be described as a symphony of sandwich artistry and blissful calm. I placed my faith—and appetite—in the hands of John, the culinary virtuoso behind the counter.
John, oh John, the Pablo Picasso of provolone, crafted my sub with the precision of a surgeon and the passion of a man whose soul has been touched by the deli gods. Every layer of meat, every drizzle of sauce—it all felt like poetry being written onto a canvas of ciabatta. This wasn’t a sandwich; it was a masterpiece.
The atmosphere of Our Hero was equally divine. It felt as though the walls were alive, cheering on John as he assembled my feast. The subtle hum of activity paired with the cheerful banter of the staff turned what could have been a mundane takeout experience into a theatrical delight.
And let me tell you, this wasn’t just a sub—it was an ode to flavor. Each bite felt like a standing ovation in my mouth, a harmonious balance of zest, savoriness, and utter perfection.
John, dear artisan of the hoagie, you have set the bar impossibly high. I left Our Hero not just with a full stomach but with a full heart. A true 10/10 experience. Bravo!

Just went to get salads. We tried to order the salads so they were fresh. Was told they were pre-made in the cooler. Showed up, they only had 2 of the Chef's made up. One was frozen the egg was translucent, tomatoes were soft and mushy. Had to get a side salad instead half of that was frozen and brown lettuce. The lady working was not friendly at all. When I mentioned the salads were frozen she just stared at me. Very disappointed.

Really good food, but the store operators don’t care about making ordering through DoorDash efficient for their customers at all. You cannot even input what type of chips/pop or what toppings you want on your sandwich!! You literally have to place the DoorDash order, then CALL THEM to give them that info. I’ve explained to people at the store at least 5 times (incl. the owners wife) that they need to go into their DD Account & either create specific options we can check yes or no to, or toggle the special request button to ON so that customers can type into a text box to communicate the specifics of their order. Despite my repeated communication, it’s still the same nonsensical, frustrating experience. This day and age, you have to be easy to do business with. No one wants to order through DoorDash then call you to clarify your order (& sometimes they don’t even answer). The E Main location had the text boxes you could type into, but the Plum St doesn’t…. And apparently won’t ever. Let’s get with it, people!

I've been working there for a couple months now and at this location is just ridiculous. My coworkers are just lazy and don't care about food safety and just full of unnecessary drama with all the he say she say. The mgr only expects the one or two people that actually do their jobs to do everything while nobody else has to do anything while she sits out back all day smoking and if there's an issue that needs to be addressed because someone has left early and nobody else was told but expected to do their job as well as the other persons cause lord knows the mgr ain't going to take responsibility and do it or tell anyone else either. And if you address the issue about it being her responsibility cause it wasn't done correctly she will verbally attempt to attack you for talking about the situation that she created and was on duty at the time trying to cuss you out about her name being in your mouth. And they only pay $11 an hour and there's no way that you will get 40 hours a week. The store is nasty and unsanitary and is only expected to be cleaned properly once a week when the same cleaning duties should be performed every day on each shift in order to assure proper food safety for the customers that are consuming it. If I want to eat at our hero I'll go to the e. Main street store. Plum St is just nasty and unsanitary.

Every time I go to the store the hours state you are open till 9pm and every time the doors are locked before 8:45 if you are going to change your hours it would be nice to inform customers because it is false advertisement
Ordered our food at 8:30pm was told 15-20 min for pick up, got there at 8:45 to the doors locked so I called, as the workers looked at me and my wife threw there window said she locks the door at 8:45, as my to go order sat there, asked for a manager and she claims to be one! I would not recommend this place to anybody! Go to deer rd or east main! Absolutely worst service I have had in a long time!
Just a small little mom and pop place. The food was really good!
