Great shakes! The young lady who took my order was pleasant and professional... was my initial review. I have now ordered from this place eight times, and of those I have received my food, as ordered, twice! This means 3/4 of my orders were wrong! Not just wrong, but I got charged for my food as ordered, but still didn't get the food as ordered... like I paid for grilled onions and got them twice! The price/cost is inconsequential, but when people PAY for something a certain way, they should get it that way!
In short, if you are okay with getting your food the way they feel like giving it to you, by all means, throw your money away here... if not, ANYWHERE else in town will likely serve you better!

Me and my girlfriend went to this location around lunch time. We ordered at the kiosk which was quick and easy but then the problems started.... firstly the fact I have to scan a QR code to get a single fountain drink then cant get anymore is dumb. An older couple couldn't even figure out the drink scanner and after I realized no employees cared enough to help I went and assisted them. When our food came out it was hot and good but we had paid for a side of ranch and a large sweet tea that never came, there was an employee filling the catchup so I approached him politely calling him sir and all and asked if we could get them since I had the receipt. He didnt even look up just put a cup on the table and said tea is down there. I explained it was only unsweetened and the sweet dispenser was missing. He said there's suger make it yourself very rudely. I heard multiple customer say they would not be coming back and we could smell weed coming from the kitchen. The floors were visibly dirty and my girlfriend said the bathroom was gross. To summarize we will not be coming back and dont suggest anyone else goes until they get new staff. I have never left a review on anything in my life so you must understand how mad I had to be in order to do this.

Went inside to eat, it took us almost exactly an hour to get our food. After we received our order, it was not correct, and it was cold. I don’t understand how we waited an hour for food, just for it to be served cold. If you’re going to eat here, don’t eat inside. It seemed like the drive-through and DoorDash orders were priority to the employees.

Can't say how the food was done we never got to eat. We went for shakes and wanted to go inside so we could talk to the people because we were hoping to get items from the secret menu but to our dismay no one waited on, checked on, helped us. As we walked in we made sure contact with at least 3 of the workers and not one came over to see if we needed seated, our order taken out anything. After about 4 minutes another group came in, clearly behind us, and someone came right up to them. We stood there for about another minute expecting someone to come back and then just turned and walked out. We'll never be back here and this review can join the other 1 star reviews this place is getting ratioed on. You'd think with so many terrible reviews something would change.

My son and I were in Springfield and it was dinner time when we spotted the Steak and Shake on Bechtle Ave. We had not the opportunity to eat there for a long, long time. But we remembered the good food and the awesome table service from the staff. So we walked in and found that they had changed over to a kiosk system so there's nobody there except one person going back and forth between but used to be the checkout area and the pickup area. There were two people in the kitchen area. All three of them were just standing around twiddling their thumbs. I have a bad back and cannot stay on my feet for very long so I told my son what I wanted and asked him to choose what he wanted at the kiosk and I went to sit down. First, I'd wanted a Royale Steak Burger, small fries and a cup not bowl of chili. There was no Royale steakburger on the menu and he also could not find the cup not bowl of chili. He found the kiosk to be confusing and convoluted at best and he has an IT background. While I was sitting there waiting I noticed that we were the only ones inside the restaurant. This was 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday...I used to eat at Steak and shake A lot in the years past and this is the time of day it would always be crowded. We gave up and started to leave when one of the people in the Cook area made a nasty comment. I could go on and on about the negativity of the experience because there's actually a lot more to it. But I've already said enough. I bet the next time I'm in Springfield,four or five months from now, that this Steak and Shake will be closed.
