Excellent Mexican food and atmosphere. Very well decorated and felt like an upscale Mexican Cantina. I highly recommend. Johnny has done a great job with this restaurant.

A comfortable, fun atmosphere with plenty of seating. The Popeye Quesadilla was delicious, and the Piña Colada was first rate! Can't wait to return to Springfield and eat there again!

Great food. Expensive. Seating ridiculous, very back of restaurant in a dark hole, obviously set up for larger groups. There were only two of us and the rest of restaurant was nearly empty. AND it was the server's first day w one-6 top, and two other tables! Server was good in spite of being a little overwhelmed, but it took at least 15 min to order drinks by a host at last, and another 15 to order w 30 min to finally eat.

Viva La Fiesta is yet another Mexican restaurant in a town that seems to have a 4:1 ratio of citizens to Mexican restaurants. So it *really* needed to stand out to this Mexican restaurant super fan. Or... more aptly, margarita super fan. Viva La Fiesta has a fun, colorful atmosphere, something one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Dayton area (Condados Tacos at The Greene... outstanding food and drinks) does not and which severely hurts it, so point goes to VLF. The food is very predictable, mid-tier Mexican restaurant fare. While VLF has a menu with some slightly unique items, ultimately this is El Toro or Casa Del Sabor or El Speedy Vaquero or any other local Mexican place. It all tastes the same. You need to get to Condados or Agave & Rye (Centerville) to get something more unique.
But the real litmus test for a Mexican restaurant is the margarita. I skipped the house blend and went for an upper tier selection. It was not at all potent, and ultimately tasted extremely tangy and syrupy... almost thick. El Toro's Cadillac margaritas are still my local Springfield favorite, but the best in the Dayton area is Agave & Rye's Epic Rita.
If you're looking for a different atmosphere from the usual suspects in the Springfield area, give Viva La Fiesta a chance, but don't go in expecting something fundamentally unique. Our server (can't remember name, sorry) was very pleasant and very funny, and ribbed the restaurant manager pretty well. Great service. But ultimately a predictable dining experience with sub par margaritas.

Beautifully decorated spacious interior - a must visit in downtown Springfield! Food was fantastic and also well presented. Portions were sizeable with many options that could easily be shared. Very impressive and fun place to try out, service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the ceviche and the fresh guac!
