I have frequented this restaurant several times over the last year while visiting my daughter who is a college student in the area. It has been one of our favorite local restaurant to visit. Up until tonight, the food has been consistently good and delicious. Sadly tonight it was sub par. Much of our food seemed reheated and not freshly made. I hope this was an off night and not the new standard as I have enjoyed many a delicious meals there.

I was there this evening, I ordered the chicken salad which I had before. The chicken tasted chewy and like it was canned chicken. It did not taste good. The rest of the salad was great. Disappointed in a salad I used to love. I also noticed that the other meals increased in price. Lasagna used to be 9.99 now it’s 12.99. Lobster ravioli is 15.99! It wasn’t that high before.

Wonderful meal and generously portioned. Our large group was vigilantly tended to by exceptional wait staff.

Since dine-in is not possible during Ohio's stay-at-home decree as of this writing (April 4, 2020), my wife and I decided to do some take out and help by doing business with a local eatery. We chose Scaffidi's because my wife wanted Italian, and we had visited Scaffidi's several times before. In fact, we had our 50th wedding anniversary party there in 2019 and it was great. Their food is good and Frankie couldn't have been more helpful in getting everything arranged for us. But, I digress. This is about the take out meal we got this evening. My wife had the Chicken Limone with pasta, and I had a fish sandwich. Wow, I never knew take out could have good presentation, but everything looked great in the nice plastic topped aluminum containers. The food was delicious AND plentiful. We will definitely have left overs for a meal early next week, and that's good since we're shut in and cooking for ourselves is getting old already! Scaffidi's did a great job and I highly recommend getting your take out from them. The have lots of items on the menu other than Italian fare as well, so don't let their typical cuisine dissuade you from looking for other dishes. Their on-line ordering system is quick and easy. Give Scaffidi's take out a try - and make a trip INSIDE when the COVID-19 has passed and restaurants are open for dining in again!

Stopped in after visiting the Nutcracker Village in downtown. Quickly greeted and seated. Clean restaurant. Well attended restrooms. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very good Italian food. Calamari was very good. Beer was cold. Very good salad. Service was very good. Nice atmosphere. Ate with realistic display of the "Rat Pack". Steubenville is the hometown of Dean Martin. I would stop here again.

I previously gave a review of this restaurant. It was not necessarily the best at that time. I'm not sure if my wife and I were just there on a bad day or what. this experience has not been the same. The food was wonderful. The service was wonderful. The environment was amazing. Everything was timely. This was the experience that I was looking for last time. we started with the garlic bread which is covered in cheese and served with marinara sauce and it is absolutely delicious. I had the chicken parmesan which the chicken is to die for. The pasta that is served with it is obviously homemade and very good as well. My wife had the cheese ravioli with pink sauce. She could not decide if she wanted pink sauce or alfredo sauce and the waitress was kind enough to bring her samples of each. All I know is that you need to give places a second chance. I am not always on top of my game so I understand that that can happen for restaurants as well. If you're in town, check it out!

Love the gnocchi and the chili! That's all we ever order! We order carry out at least once a month from here.

Recently my wife and I went to Steubenville to see the great display of life sized nutcrackers, and once we were done, we went to Scaffidi's for lunch. The restaurant itself is outside of the downtown area, at the end of an outdoor strip mall, with plenty of free parking. We were promptly greeted and seated. For lunch, my wife ordered the "Make Your Own" calzone at $9.95, and I ordered the Italian Hoagie, also at $9.95. Both sandwiches were huge, and really, really good! My wife, who grew up in New Jersey, said it was the best calzone she had eaten in years! High praise! The only downside to our luncheon was the waitress service, where on multiple occasions our server would disappear, even though there weren't that many folks in the restaurant. For example, we were done for at least 15 minutes before she came over and asked if we were ready for the check, and it was another 10-15 minutes, once the check arrived, for her to return to pick it up. Thank goodness we weren't in any sort of a rush. Other than that, I'd absolutely return for the food, and hope I got a different waitress!

Ate here for wedding anniversary, gnocchi is light and delicious, just not a large enough portion! Wife had chicken Parmesan and loved it,

I was in town on business and was looking at the Trip Advisor list of Best Restaurants in Steubenville, OH and came across Scaffidi's. I stopped at my hotel's front desk on my way out and asked which Italian Restaurant was the best in town and was told Scaffidi's which made my decision right there. I ordered a bowl of Wedding Soup and their Roma dish. The bowl of soup came in a big bowl which I am not used to these days. Usually you get small bowls which hardly more than a cup! The Wedding soup was delicious with a very good broth and fantastic mini meatballs. When I finished the soup I was almost full but my appetite came back when my waitress brought me my Roma Dish which was a sauteed sausage, pepperoni and genoa salami in sauce over fettucini with a meatball and mozzarella on top. This dish was amazing, I have never had one similar to it and while my eyes wanted to eat every bit of it my stomach said no when I got half way through it. I can tell you that I never dreamed that I would find such a fine Italian restaurant as this in Ohio, sorry Ohio it's the Jersey in me! If you are in the area make the effort to eat here, you won't regret it! I will be back next time I am in the area.

The reviews on TripAdvisor made me excited to try this restaurant. I had the Tilapia with Gnocci, and substituted their acclaimed pink sauce. The Tilapia was cooked expertly, but... it had way too much lemon added to it... It was not pleasant ... If you describe gnoccis as pillow soft, these were the firm pillows... I like the gnocci that I get near my home in NJ much much better... The waitress was very nice, and I sincerely apologize to her for letting her know that the food was less than I expected... it was not her fault... she offered to let me speak to the management, and I probably should have for their sake... but, I am in a different part of the country, and they may have a different clientelle... I think it was probably just an off night. It certainly beat all of the fast food joints around... BTW - the portions are very ample, and I would have finished my fish, had I been able to.... I give them 4 stars, as 3 would really be untrue, but so would 5....

The food was good, drinks were better and the service was great as well. I got the chicken Alfredo which was kind of plain but the chicken and gnocchi soup was great!

The food is mediocre at best. I ordered a salad and Shrimp Alfredo and neither one was any good. I was there with family and we traded bites of dishes and not one bite I had was something I would eat again. I love to support local businesses and restaurants but this is one I will not be going to again.
