I ate here last night with a group of friends. We ordered a decent sampling of things off the menu so we could try a little of everything. Our server was friendly and helpful, and met all of our needs. My first knock, while not huge, was that our appetizers and entrees all came out at different times. There was a good 5-7 minute wait between when our appetizer was served and our friend’s. Conversely, there was another 5-7 minute wait between when our friend’s entrees arrived and ours later. We were having a good time and the place was relatively busy, so it didn’t matter to us *too* much, but it would’ve been nice to not be waiting to eat together. The food was a “little hit or miss.” To start out, the pierogis were GREAT—they absolutely nailed them. They were drenched in butter, so certainly not a health-conscious appetizer, but nonetheless tasty. The Buffalo chicken dip was also good, but also a little odd. It tasted as you’d expect Buffalo chicken dip to, but the consistency was a little off (I’d guess it was made with ricotta instead of cream cheese, but I could be wrong). I enjoyed it, but if you are a “texture eater,” it may weird you out.My entree was a BBQ Pulled Pork Burger with fries. The fries were really great, and the burger was decent. The pretzel bun was a nice touch as was the pulled pork, but the burger was definitely overdone and a little tough. My wife ordered the Pittsburgh Style Salad with Chicken. She said it was just “ok.” There didn’t look to be much chicken at all in the salad, but there was a nice amount of fries and ranch. The big thing with this salad is that it was, aside from the fries, something you could easily make at home, and it costs $15.99.The big thing we were excited for was the Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie. There’s a huge picture of it on the menu and it just looks amazing. Presentation-wise, the dessert hit the mark, it looked absolutely amazing. Our server did mistake the instruction of chocolate and caramel sauce as us wanting chocolate ice cream, but that’s no big deal at all. The big problem here was the cookie. This thing was rock hard, and dry as could be. The cookie texture was very grainy, and even combining it with a bit of ice cream did nothing to save your teeth from this thing. I have no doubt we turned some heads in the restaurant just from the loud *clank* of the spoon breaking through the cookie and hitting the mini skillet underneath. We did not finish the dessert after just a few bites.Overall, the place wasn’t bad. The major issue is that there are competitive restaurants nearby, and the food her was just alright. Even more importantly, for just alright food, the bill came to $70.71 after tax, before a tip (and this was a no-alcohol meal, just soft drinks). This really made it feel not worth it, when we could’ve eaten better and cheaper at the Texas Roadhouse a few steps the other direction.I’m not saying don’t try it, because it certainly didn’t ruin our evening. I just think some price and food adjustment is in order to make this place competitive with the other restaurants in the area.
