They were very quick to take my money but do not have the decency to call me back. No one gave us a heads up that they weren’t coming and the day of the wedding we called a million times and still no one has called back. It is the biggest scam and rip off I’ve ever had in my entire life. Not only did I have to go without a wedding cake or dessert for my wedding but I can’t even get any answers as to what happened or why I haven’t had a full refund! I’m highly upset at this bakery and would never recommend anyone to go to this place!

My fiancée (now wife) chose to have Patisserie 42 make and deliver our wedding cake. Unfortunately it never showed up. We paid in full for the cake and delivery and after our ceremony, there was no cake. Our coordinator called them numerous times. Our aunt has called them numerous times. My now wife has tried to call them and they have not returned the call or acknowledged us whatsoever. So, very quickly this is turning into theft and fraud. Due to their lack of a response, I feel it necessary to post a review as a warning to others that though they came highly recommended, someone there dropped the ball and is seemingly refusing to own it. I’ll be reporting it to the BBB as well. Writing this is not something I wanted to do but neither was having to explain to everyone that our cake never showed. 200 local and potential customers attended that wedding and at this point most all of them know to never do business with you, as you apparently cannot deliver on services that were paid for.

We hired Romel to make Italian style cookies for our cookie table at our wedding.He also set up other cookies that family friends made. At the end of the day, everything worked out. The cookie table was beautiful and all of our guests were complimenting the desserts he made.However, this was by far the worst vendor we had in regards to communication. In the beginning, we received email responses right away. As soon as we sent our check, it took several weeks to a month for a response. I was never sent an actual contract stating all the details until I had to ask multiple times for one just to make sure he had all the details. I spent a lot of time stressing over this and kept thinking I was getting scammed. However, we trusted Taste Of Excellence for recommending them. On the day of our wedding, he gave us a window of what time he would arrive 12-3. It was getting close to 3:00, and because of our history of not hearing from him, we called. My planner had to call 5 times and leave a voicemail. He showed up at 3:00.Again, it all worked out and was absolutely beautiful but I feel communication when planning a wedding is very important and other brides should be prepared for this should you choose to hire them.

I can’t thank Romel enough for making my Mother-in-law’s stunning 90th birthday cake! My brother-in-law and husband hadn’t thought to order a birthday cake!! It was Wednesday afternoon when I was frantically calling various bakeries to find a gorgeous tiered cake for 50 people on Saturday, May 27th! Romel said he could accommodate our last minute request! It was her favorite, strawberry, custard, buttercream filled 2 tiered cake and it was scrumptious! It truly made her day and made it memorable! Thank you Romel for also delivering it! You were a Godsend!

Our daughter lives in Seattle but was getting married at Stan Hywet in Akron, so my wife and I were tasked with finding the perfect wedding cake. We tried three well-known Cleveland area bakers, who ranged from awful to forgettable to barely adequate before we found Joanne at P42. Working with her was a delight. Not only did she make four test cakes so we could sample different cake, filling and frosting combinations, her cakes were just stunningly good. They have a richness combined with a truly unique texture/crumb that just melts in your mouth. Her whipped frosting is so light that it has to be tasted to be believed. We found the perfect combination of two different flavors and fillings for a three tier cake.On the big day, Joanne insisted on placing the flowers herself to make sure everything was perfect, and it was: beautiful and so very delicious, everything a wedding cake should be. Our daughter was delighted, the guests loved it, and we couldn't have asked for more. Joanne is just amazingly talented, and so very easy to work with. If there's anyone better than P42 in this area, we couldn't find them. Five stars plus!
