Mail Pouch Saloon - Swanton Reviews
We drive thru Swanton when traveling and decided to stop this time thru. Never again. Husband ordered steak and loaded baked potato , I had steak bites with loaded potato wedges- we did not know that “loaded” meant cook the cheese so long that you cannot even put a fork thru it. The steak bites were described on the menu as filet mignon - it was so tough and dry it made a noise when I tried cutting thru it. Asked for water that we never got… never got refills on our drinks...read full review
Very rude waitress, told us not to go out to eat if we aren't going to tip, just because we didn't leave a tip on the credit card receipt, but we left her a cash tip on the table. Not to mention we sat there for 15 minutes waiting for our bill while she spent her time sitting at the bar decorating drinking glasses with paint markers.
Very disappointed in how we were served tonight. I apologized for one of my own actions, but the bartender was indifferent to anything I said, and frankly, was rude. Did not accept a gift card that was given to me, and I am 100% positive there was still a good amount of money left on it. I've been to this place 10+ times, but hard to forgive how I was treated tonight.

Mail Pouch Saloon offers good service and tasty food, with a slight portion issue for the Hatfield & McCoy chunks. The place hosts fun events like rock n roll bingo on Fridays, starting at 6. The burger with pull pork is a standout dish that keeps customers talking weeks later. The menu is diverse and easy to understand. The food is generally excellent and phenomenal, with many saying it never disappoints. The clam chowder and almond cake are the bomb, and the cheesecake dessert is highly recommended as the best they've ever had. The fish dinners are to die for and so flavorful. The Black/Blue burger is very tasty and the best in years. Salads are delicious with fresh, clean toppings. While service can be friendly, helpful, and impeccable even during a busy rush, it was definitely lacking and unsettling at times. The overall experience remains positive, and the service is appreciated by many.
