This evening was our group’s third visit to this cafe. First two were good but this time all five of us agreed the food was terrible. I am Italian and know a lot about Italian foods and recipes. The bolognese sauce was horrid. It looked like a bunch of bare pasta with a tiny bit of tomatoes with no sauce. It looked like someone opened canned tomatoes, and chopped and heated them. Couldn’t have had more than a half cup of sauce for each dish. Our waitress didn’t return till we were done so we called over a waiter to get more sauce which was just as bad. I asked if they had changed their recipe for the sauce and was told no but this was not the sauce they previously made. Bolognese has milk or cream added, giving it a lighter red color sauce. When we got the bill, it stated suggested tip of 20% to 35%!! Very disappointed, we will not return. Jimmy’s Italian in Kettering is 100% better and with larger portions on

Went here tonight with my husband for the first time! We had a really nice waitress who explained the menu and specials thoroughly to us. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I got the chicken marsala and my husband got the tortellini with bolognese and mascarpone..it all was delicious we shared our entrees with one another!! We ended up getting bread with our order and salad with in house made dressing which was also fantastic! Then for dessert he had cookies and cream cheese cake and I had the lemon creme cake which both were to die for..I had no problem paying $65..the service food and ambiance were worth every penny! We will be returning customers for sure :)

Try to always stop when going through Urbana. Food is always the best, servers always very friendly, and a very clean welcoming atmosphere.
My wife and I went for a late lunch on Wednesday for our first time there. They weren't busy so we could choose where to sit. The service was superb. Our server was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions fully and honestly. There were many options to choose from, including traditional pasta entrées, pannini's, and even some interesting gourmet pizza selections. Serving sizes were perfect for us (we were pretty hungry by 2:30 ), and the food was delicious ! ! There's also a nice selection of wines and beers that are reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back for more !It is recommended to call for reservations during busy meal times, as they are a smaller café which fills up quickly. There are also a few added tables on a small patio if the weather permits. It is well worth a drive to downtown Urbana (in the town Square) for a meal at this quaint Italian café with delicious food at reasonable prices ! You won't regret it.

Not great experience.First time going in I had high hopes. Once seated a young girl in the back asked her manager “who goes first” im assuming she meant to take out order. The manager replied with “well we aren’t really open right now.” in a sassy tone towards this girl. This is not something I would say infront of guests as a hospitality spot.

Charming Italian cafè with an American flair. Friendly, attentive, unstuffy service & really good food.
