Bless you, Half Day Cafe, bless you. If you're ever driving through the booming metropolis of Urbana, Ohio, this is where you should stop for lunch. Or breakfast. I went for lunch, despite having a strong understanding of the merits of breakfast. However, to me a hamburger is the most important food that we have access to as human beings. I heard from a local during my travels that this was the finest hamburger he'd ever had. So I said to myself, "this must be the place."BUT BEWARE! The shop closes at 2 every day, not 2:30 as listed on Google. And they shut grills down about 15 minutes before closing, so call an order in, or whatever you have to do. This is important. If I had time and unlimited funds, I would have loved to have tried their cheesesticks or mushrooms. But I settled on a typical cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger was delicious, and the homemade shoelace fries were fantastic as well. If you are a Hungry Man™, then you will probably want a double cheeseburger. The whole meal was a good quantity for me, but if I was on my weight-gaining diet, I would have wanted MORE.I should very much like to return and sample the other fare at this location, but for now take this advice, go get you some.

Some of the best breakfast around. They use a lot of locally sourced products and you can taste the quality in everything they make. I especially like the chopped steak breakfast. Always cooked perfectly juicy! The coffee is locally roasted and always fresh.

This small diner packs a big punch! Only Open till 2pm and closed on mondays. The burgers are juicy and delicious. Fresh cut shoestring french fries.....so good!!!! Best little diner around!

I've seen so many positive comments about this place on social media, that when my wife and I visited my hometown after a two-year absence (COVID shutdowns), we made eating here a priority. We enjoyed a great lunch here with my two sisters. As usual when we travel, my wife and I shared an entree...portions are so large these days. We ordered a Hawaiian chicken sandwich and fries, and there was plenty to share. The sandwich featured a chicken breast with a pineapple slice and cheese...and it was delicious. The fries were excellent and not greasy. Service was good and not overly obtrusive, just as we like it...a nice experience and a fun lunchtime catching up with the sibs at the start of our visit.

Shared a rueben sandwich and fries. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Nice crisp on the bread. A little too much sauce for my taste so it was pretty drippy. The fries were some of the best I have had in a long time. Nice and crispy. Wait staff was friendly and quick. Nice place.

I have heard such good things, so I had to try it. The food was fresh and so yummy. You should try the hand cut fries. Very inexpensive and fantastic, fast service.

Great servers great food. Their ambience is off. No music, stuffy inside, felt very awkward sitting there trying to talk to mt girlfriend. I felt like i had to whisper or i would disrupt something. Would eat their food again but i wont go inside.. Dreary to aay the least.
