What a great place. Easily the best cocktail bar until you get to Detroit. Nobody comes close. The building is cool. One of our favorite places to go.

Nov. 2025: Great little restaurant in an old bank. Reservation recommended. Food is consistently excellent. Handcrafted cocktails are excellent as well. Great service. Prices are about the same as chain restaurants but the portions are smaller and the quality is much better. Nice atmosphere. Fairly quiet.

1st time in. Made a reservation. Small place, very busy. Had 8 total drinks between the 3 of us and all were above average. Kudos to the bartender. Small food menu but we liked everything that was ordered. Get the raspberry filled beignets for dessert!

René was the best! She was able to accommodate us when we had to change the reservation time. The food was great. I recommend the baked oysters and the hamburger. The atmosphere was amazing. Thank you

I booked a tasting dinner for our very first visit to Farnsworth Cocktail Bar to celebrate our wedding anniversary on a whim. We were blown away by this hidden gem! The owner, Josh, and his wonderful crew (including his Chef Josh) put together an amazing food and wine pairing. The atmosphere is vibrant, intimate and welcoming in a historic old bank. Staff was friendly and engaging. Price-to-value was exceptional. Even the littlest details were impressive - like how an oyster bar (and we were sitting on top of it) has zero fishy smells. I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will bring friends here and possibly book some private work dinners too. Bravo Josh and the Farnsworth Team! Sincerely, Eric & Jamie Short

It’s great to have a restaurant of this level in Waterville. Tasteful menu that changes seasonally, along with the best oysters and handcrafted cocktails in our area. Try their smash burger, you won’t be disappointed!

My Lord, the Wagu steak....like butter in my mouth! The scallops were superb nestled in a wonderful buttery sauce. That cheeseburger...no smash burger anywhere competes for flavor. The shrimp, excellently seared and seasoned swimming in a corn chowder of sorts. All in all, 5 stars in my book! There's more to say, but another day.

This restaurant is truly a gem and our favorite new spot. The quality of the food is outstanding — every dish is prepared with care, using fresh, seasonal ingredients that you can really taste. The menu is thoughtful and creative, and you can tell the chef prioritizes quality over quantity, which means some items may sell out — a clear sign of freshness and high demand.
The cocktails are equally impressive, well-crafted, balanced, and unique without being overcomplicated. They perfectly complement the food and add to the overall experience.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, striking that perfect balance between relaxed and refined. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a casual dinner with friends or a special night out.
If you’re looking for a place that combines fresh ingredients, exceptional flavors, and a comfortable vibe, this spot is hard to beat. Just a tip: get there early or make a reservation, because when something runs out here, it’s because it’s that good.

Wagyu and beet puree was one of the best things I have had in a long while. Oysters are always tasty as well. Very fair bourbon prices as well!

Since my original review was strangely edited let s start again-this is my first and only poor restaurant review.
7 pm on a Friday night. Only 2 tables having dinner. Restaurant and bar were a long way from filled.
4 out of 6 of our guests did not get their initial dinner order.
No chowder.
No lobster roll.
Scallops crossed off the menu.
They forgot our Mac and cheese.
If you have a limited seafood menu you should have on hand what is on your menu. Hamburgers were not what we were there for and disappointing.
Ladies-No Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio BY THE GLASS on the menu. I stand by that. Recommendation of alternative wine was not good.
Waitress offered horseradish for oysters but did not inform of extra cost?
Ie. Chipotle has guacamole on their menu but reminds you it’s extra because the extra cost can be missed.
How many of us have been to a restaurant that was having an off night but the manager came to your table and made it right?
I had called ahead to arrange a birthday desert and it was a special night. Waitress acknowledged that manager/ owner was aware of our disappointment but he declined to talk to us.
Not so much as a complimentary desert…We are not difficult people but when you offer a limited seafood menu you should be able to deliver on that.
I stand by our poor experience and you don t need to suggest we not come back as that will not be a problem.
