Sonora Mexican Grill - Waverly

I’m not sure how this place is rated so high. We decided to try it out last night. No one was there. There was no one at the front to greet us, we stood there for a solid 3-5 minutes until a cook realized we were there and went and got a girl. She was screaming about her husband being stuck in the snow. Then yelled at us to follow her then disappeared to the back. So we followed. We ordered margaritas that tasted like mojitos, had no alcohol. The food was actually good.. no complaints there. Then the manager came out of somewhere and was talking to our hostess/waitress really loud. Then his phone rang and he took it right beside the table. We won’t be back. Overall the experience was just poor, food was good.

My husband and I have ate inside a few times and ordered take out serval times. Every thing we have ever tried has been amazing, and the service has always been impeccable!

Always kind, welcoming, and helpful! Definetly my families favorite place to eat, food is great and murals/decor are beautiful to look at while enjoying a nice meal! 10/10 would reccomend. :)

My mom had the taco salad I had the pollo bandido and it was the best we have ever had there. The new cooks are awesome and the queso was the best I have ever had!! The new remodel is nice and refreshing too. Give them a chance if you haven’t tried them out yet!!

I usually order take out but I wanted to dine in and the place was really busy at the time and we wanted to try to bira tacos but they was out so we got the chimachungas I think that's how you spell it and they was delicious

Parked in the gravel behind the restaurant. Was later asked during my meal to move my vehicle because it was for apartment residence. The surrounding parking lots have signs they will tow you. Parking is a huge issue. Also walking into the restaurant there was staff smoking at the dining tables by the indoor dining door. As a non smoker it's overwhelming. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Servers were on their phones and no manager on the property when we had an issue. Ordered the shrimp el popeye and it came out so salty it was inedible , was offered no solution. Chips and queso was good. I believe in enjoying what you do however the kitchen staff was so loud it was hard to enjoy the conversation at my table. As a small business owner I do hope the owners can find some leaders that care about their business as they their selves. My visit was at 7pm on a Saturday. It was just one table other than ours. Nice wall decorations.
