Inside the Cincinnati Art Museum is a really nice Cafe to have an enjoyable upscale lunch. They have indoor and beautiful shaded outdoor terrace seating. Lylie was very nice and helped me on deciding what to order off the menu. No rushing, calm and quiet place to just relax. I had the most delicious strawberry burrata salad. It was very fresh and the tangy vinegarette was made in house. The burrata was a nice size and brought all the flavors together perfectly.
It took several minutes before someone came to wait on me. I was told that there was a mixup on who’s table it was. That being said service was very good from that point on. However, the sandwich was a tad on the greasy side and the coffee although it had a good flavor was not very warm unfortunately. The saving grace was the warm cinnamon roll that came a little later in the meal. Next time I will simply order a cup of soup and a cinnamon roll. You can’t ask for a better view as a large Miro was within my view throughout the meal.
I enjoyed eating a salad here while visiting the museum. They also serve beer & wine along with coffee & teas. They offer outdoor seating as well with a covering in case of rain. They only reason why I didn't rate it "Excellent" was because the waitress was a little snappy...annoyed with customers.
I love this place. Situated in a world class museum. Good food, good service. It is a very special treat to eat out on the spacious patio overlooking a garden and fountain
There are just a couple of items on the menu for normal and civilized people. Everything is geared towards carnivores. I had the tomato soup and the beet salad. The tomato soup should be liste dunder desserts, it was that sweet. The beet salad tasted stale and weird. The beets were frozen and thawed. Dressing was strange. It was more like a platter with various scoops rather than a tossed salad. I felt sick for quite some time afterwards.
We arrived just about 1 pm after another museum visit and we were hungry. A very beautiful courtyard to eat in with well-prepared food. Not you "sandwich wrapped inn Cellophane" with a can of pop from the machine.
The Terrace Cafe is part of the Cincinnati Art Museum. I had never been and was truly delighted. My friend and I were greeted by the best host I have ever encountered. He saw to our seating and brought us glasses of wine. We shared a delicious glass and I had a chicken salad sandwich with very fresh fruit. I could have spent more time there but we wanted to continue our museum visit. Take it all in.
I’ve ever had good experience here and today was not an exception. I waited more than a minute to be seated. It was 2:15 pm and the restaurant was about less than 20% full and all the staff were lined up behind the counter looking busy. I was finally seated by a senior staff, probably a manager. I gave them 7 minutes before walking out. I am a member of the Art Museum but I’m not a fan of this cafe.
Great sandwiches, very large portion size. Great coffee. Awesome ambiance. Great service and friendly service staff. Recommend the "Club Sandwich".
The Terrace Cafe is a great place to have lunch with a friend while visiting the art museum. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the food fresh and delicious. The only area where I think they could improve is ambiance - the tables have no placemats or tablecloths, no flowers or centerpiece of any sort - it just makes it feel more like a cafeteria than a nice, sophisticated lunch spot. But will I go again soon - absolutely!

It was 33 degrees and pouring rain when we found this little cafe in the Cincinnati Art Museum. Windows overlooking an interior garden. I has grilled cheese with a generous helping of boneless short ribs layered between two slabs of Texas Toast, and a side order of corn/crab chowder. Best grilled cheese ever. I can still taste it. My wife had Carrot Cake with warm Carmel Sauce. High quality food in an interesting setting
The Terrace Cafe has phenomenal food! I really enjoyed the short ribs and grits. The service the last few times I have gone, has been just okay. You need to hire more servers. The manager is extremely nice & friendly.
Neat place...fun atmosphere. Service was a bit surly and inattentive but the food was surprisingly good. Try the Reuben with root vegetable kraut...it was excellent. The bib salad was good, but overpriced for what we got. Reasonable kids menu. Would come back in the spring to eat outdoors. If you are there, give it a try!
As a three star veteran chef, I could tell right away they microwaved the chickentendies, the breading was a tad loose but that’s all good. They were out of apple sauce so I had to settle for fruit which I gave to my mother in law. I paid for my food then was introduced to a dessert menu, I jumped at the thought of a cinnamon roll. I have been informed that the rolls are microwaved. That’s all good though. This place is just so expensive.
The food is very good and the prices are fair. The seating outside is wonderful in summer, with a screen above the tables that shades diners. Service could use some improvement; my fork and napkin were dirty, and a requested item never made it to the table, but in general, this is a very good cafe.
