We went to the Whitehouse Inn tonight for the first time and had a terrible experience. We were sat at a table for a full 30 minutes before they even took our drink order. It was super hot out and we didn’t even have drinks. Finally the Waitress came and took our drink orders and appetizers. We waited another 30 minutes for drinks . We had to go ask the bar where our waitress was. Finally she arrived and apologized saying that there was a large group of 30 they were not prepared for. After 1.5hrs we did not yet get our food and our mixed drinks were undrinkable. Literally the worst margarita I have ever had. We cancelled our meals and asked for the bill. The restaurant refused to remove the drinks from our bill. Very low class establishment. Enjoy the $18 you got from me in undrinkable drinks your establishment obviously needs it. Can’t imagine they will be in business much longer with that kind of service. While we were leaving we heard a waitress tell another guest that we were rude. No what’s rude is making people wait 2 hours. If you don’t have time to serve me then don’t seat me.

Another restaurant that has chosen to directly pass credit card surcharges on to customers paying by credit card. No fair comparison of the actual costs to handle cash are, just punishing/insulting credit card customers who are the largest % of customers. There are still great places to dine that don't do this such as J. Alexander's, Mancy's restaurants, Chop House and Barr's Public House. House is that they can be profitable without surcharges? Simple, they do what they all used to do - they build all of their costs into their expense profle and set menu prices accordingly. I avoid restaurants that do this regardless of the food and dining experience because it is an insult. If you decide to dine there anyway but I agree with my points, make sure to let them know how you feel about this. Its the only way it will change. Barr's polled their customers and the overwhelming result was customers did not mind higher menu prices if it meant no surcharge.

Had the most wonderful meal! The artichoke dip with bread is to die for! Pardon the expression but it was so good!Had a steak, just superb!
The only bad takeaway is that it is very loud inside and its almost impossible to talk with people at your table.

I started with the French onion soup and it was delicious love it. I had prime rib and my husband had the meatloaf it was very delicious and we will be back. We saw a order with onion rings and I was in shock they looked amazing we will be back for them.

The eclectic decor was interesting and the food was top notch. Service was excellent too. What a great place to dine! Famous for their prime rib dinner, but a lesser favorite, liver and onions comes smothered in onions and bacon; so tender it cuts with a fork. I highly recommend you treat yourself to a fun evening here.
Let me start by saying I thought this was a very proffesional environment but after what I witnessed recently, I’ll never step foot in here. The management is a joke. They treat their staff like they’re disposable, and the second someone speaks up or actually works hard, they’re gone. I saw a server get let go mid shift over something very ridiculous, meanwhile the kitchen couldn’t get a single order right and the bathrooms smelled like a mop bucket. The vibe is all fake smiles and empty hospitality. Don’t waste your time or money on a place that treats customers like wallets and employees like trash bags. There are plenty of other restaurants where the food is better and people are treated like actual humans.
Went out to eat at the Whitehouse Inn ... my bill was $23.16. I gave him $40.00.... should have gotten back 16.84. I would have left him a $5.00 tip. But he brought me back $7.00. Got that???? So I went straight into the kitchen and found him. He knew ASAP and I said I gave you $40.00 and showed him the 7.00 he immediately gave me $10.00. So just to be nice the I gave him $2.66 tip. Watch your change back on cash customers... It was a male with black hair and about 45 years old maybe.

been many years since we tried Whitehouse Inn. We tried again last night and were very pleased. packed house but the service was great and food delicious! great perch dinner.
The food and service were fine, but this place is one of those that insults the majority of its customers (those paying with credit cards) by charging credit card payers more than cash payers. This isn't a complaint about money, its a complaint about the willful insult to cc payers, without truly accounting for the costs of handling cash. I would be happy if they charged everyone the same price, even if it was higher. I will avoid this place in the future, because there are plenty of better restaurants that don't do this (Mancy's, J. Alexanders, etc.)
