Joe was great. Gave the best service
It's hit or miss for me... I've been there a few times and it was delicious, but at least two times where it wasn't. I had lobster that was cold and fish n chips that were less than good. I have had lobster and crab legs there that were cooked well and tasted delicious... I do prefer a bit more consistency when I'm eating higher priced food. The decor is grossly outdated and could use a freshening up. The service, like the food is touch n go. They tend to act like you are there for them and not the other way around. I would definitely recommend you try it and see for yourself.
Worst Valentines Day EVER! Been there 10yrs Staff was nice, service was TERRIBLE! We got there @ 8:04pm, and walked out @ 9:23pm, we were only served SPRITE, no bread, cause they ran out! I watched 2 waiters take out trash, and not wash their hands, and that's when we left! We waited, and were there before people that was somehow served before us! Just terrible!
Service was better than excellent. The wait staff was one of the best that I have come across. My glass stayed full continuously. The food was great. The clam chowder had more clams than anything else in it (imagine that). I think potatoes are a waist, and this place had hardly any potatoes which was perfect for me. It was full of flavor...I was tempted to lick the bowl, but didn't think it was appropriate. ? The locally caught Walleye fish was perfectly cooked. It was a very thick. I had mine fried to taste their seasoning. They have a home-made season that added a nice touch without overdoing the flavor and texture of the fish. Their home-made coleslaw is a must to try...OMG!!! It is also home-made. It was chopped and full of flavor. It was slightly sweet, but not too much. Perfect! The place is like a hole-in-the-wall, but you will be glad you went. The prices are very reasonable and some were lower than expected and I would have paid more...so we tipped well.
Arrived early and they got busy right away. One waitress did great. Got Calamari as an app it was great. We both got Crab cakes and they were good. Salad was ok.
Good food Kinda pricey
Love it. Remember seeing it in the Entertainment books years ago. Now my first visit. Nice. Sam was very good waitress. We will be bringing our family there and how Sam is there.
This place has been around a long time.
This was great. We loved the food the perch an crab legs were a hit. The coleslaw an banana creme pie with pecan crust was yummy. The staff were very friendly.
The Google menu is not correct and the prices are significantly higher. The "jumbo " shrimp were large at best. The draft beer tasted as the lines havent been cleaned in forever. The clam linguine was blah, and the cajujun grilled non-jumbo shrimp were overpriced at 19 dollars for 7. Forget this place.
Restaurantji Recommends
Warm water, Cold bread, old tap beer . But food was AMAZING!!!
Fabulous! New favorite restaurant for batter fried fish and seafood
The food is awesome! I had the New England clam chowder to start. Definitely great soup. Then the linguine Alfredo with shrimp . Couldn’t stop eating it was excellent! My wife had the linguine and clams . Also a great choice. Then their famous banana cream pie with pecans in the crust is a perfect desert and to die for! I highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to go back
Pricey, but had a wonderful waitress and the salmon was delicious.
Properly prepared lake perch and really tasty! Had creamy slaw, parmesan risotto. And, try that pecan-crusted pie! 80 years a WINNER.
