Not good. Bland food, mushy noodles in pad se ew, terrible Korean seafood soup, the waiter offered a dish in place of what I got that was really bad, but I still got charged for everything including the replacement dish lol
I just paid for it all and left but save yourself and go to the pho place down the street.
Fried shrimp app was good though, so if you must go here get that, or sushi.
How is the food so delicious but the service is so terrible?? I'm breaking up with basil after this experience. Two thumbs down for service

We had a fantastic waitress. We like the atmosphere a lot. None of us like the Sake, definitely a acquired taste. The Pad Thai was yummy!

Nice early dinner with visiting colleague from out of state. Menu offers lots of Asian options (Chinese and Thai are main themes). I had the King Pao beef and guest had vegetable stir fry. Had wontons for appetizer. We both loved the wontons and enjoyed our meals. Had mine 'Thai hot' (3 out of 5 on their hotness scale) which was spicy but not overwhelming. Service took a bit longer than one would expect for an early sitting (40 minutes?).

The food was okay, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. There was no greeting when we walked in and we were barely acknowledged when being seated. Several employees were loudly discussing personal matters and using their phones in front of guests. As I was leaving on crutches, every staff member, except one kind kitchen worker, just stared while I struggled with the door and continued to gossip. Very disappointing experience overall.

I can’t say we had a pleasant meal here. In fact it rated low as a dining and culinary experience. There’s a lot of potential here but the distractions knocked my overall score down by 1 star to 2 stars. Server was pleasant and on point throughout the meal but obviously overworked. It was 6 ish and dinner business was picking up so I can understand the busy rush. Tables on each side of ours experienced long serve times as well which confirmed that to me. The bartender was making very loud crashes and bangs every minute or so, even throwing dishes into a bin causing loud crashes. At first I thought it was me but the customer sitting at next table kept jumping in their seat being startled at the loud noises. I’ve sat next to busy kitchens before and this noise was unnecessary and just made me wonder what was going on with the bartender, is this a thing for this restaurant? Yes restaurants can be loud and noisy but this completely detracted from the meal from the intermittent loud bangs and crashes. They need to check the acoustics in the restaurant if this is their thing. The final bill is a crazy combo of cash price and credit price. I’m very wary of credit cards getting charged a fee now and honed in on this. So I was told cash price is a discount but here was the trick: I didn’t have the menu to compare prices and once i handed over my cash the server took the itemized bill and did not return any cash receipt. Misleading at least, deceptive at worst. They can leave the itemized receipt for customers for full transparency. Now for the kicker of what prompted me to write this, and is the most important. Both my spouse and I experienced illness after the meal. My spouse was sick immediately after in the car and I had to run to the bathroom the next morning. I judge a restaurant by waiting a few days after to see my stomach’s response. Both of us had problems and it rarely happens for both of us because we order different food groups. I stay away from seafood in restaurants unless if it is deep fried. Spouse always eats the seafood boiled or in soup. What happened to us usually happens if there is an over abundance of MSG used. I don’t know if this is the case…..my food tasted good but my spouse said it tasted bad at the get go, so the 2 day rule applied…..but it only lasted to the next morning to make a decision. As I wrote above, lots of potential here but needs attention.

Our experience at Basil Asian Bistro - Wooster was outstanding. The staff is very friendly and made very good suggestions on dinner choices. The Spicy Garlic Fish was one of the best dishes I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Will definitely being going there again.
We stopped in while passing through Wooster OH. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had the green mango grouper which was awesome. My wife had her go too meal General Tos which was a step above most places we've have eaten in the past.
Basil had a modern up scale look and feel and the restaurant was very clean.

Excellent food, a great selection of dishes from a variety of Asian cultures; Japanese sushi, Thai noodles, Korean dishes, traditional Chinese options. Something for everyone, and great house-recipe cocktails you won't find online. Staff is always friendly, stylish atmosphere, and very clean.
