As a teen in the '70s I loved when we would get subs from Hero House. I didn't think it would live up to my memory, but it did all these years (umm... decades) later. The rest in our party thought i was exaggerating, but they agreed that the subs were great! ordered pick up, so can't comment on atmosphere really. I can agree with some comments that wait staff can be gruff. But, the food far outweighs that downside.

I recently ordered a 7.5" Cheese Steak Deluxe Hero Sub, a Small Fresh Cut Fry, and a Small Mr. Pibb / Dr. Pepper. It was all pretty great. I would order these items again. It was prepared and handed off quickly. I particularly liked the rather nostalgic artwork / photos framed on the walls.

There employees are not very nice and kind of rude if you don't want to work with or around the public then get another job. They are not friendly at all !!!!!
A couple of decades had passed since my last visit and I remembered how much I had enjoyed the chicken salad here. We used the drive thru. We were greeted with "Name." Not as a question or a greeting, but a statement. I have never quite accepted rudeness as a business model. Perhaps customer interaction isn't the ideal place for this individual. Taking my hero home I was further disappointed by the soggy condition. No. Not soggy. Sopped. It couldn't be picked up and was slid off the wrapper onto a plate and eaten with knife and fork. Should I add the service I received to the condition of my sandwich I arrive at the sum of 'I can wait a couple more decades until another visit'.

A Wooster Classic, been in business longer than I've been alive, same location and a lot of the same pictures on the wall. The food is great, too. And very reasonably priced for how much you get.

Their heros are legendary and considerable. Steak, mushroom steak are popular. Messy but tasty! The inside is no frills.

BEWARE!!!! Menu prices are not accurate!! They will blind side you when you order, pay and THEN, when you ask why your tuna salid is $9.75 instead of the Menu price $7.75, the owner says "Sorry my lettuce went way up in price." Give me a fricking break!!! It wasn't that good anyway. Soupy and no taste to it. We'll never go there again!! First and last!!!!

I know its hard to see as it is not easy to focus my camera on a hair...Its black and not mine, entrapped in the sammich.Yall need wear hair/beard nets ?Having long hair that is a nuisance when i cook at home, i get it happens but without a net at home its rare still.The food is always good but Sorry this is enough to keep me from eating there for a while. Eewww**i also agree with the soggy bread issue. When my bf suggested the place for dinner, it was the 1st thing to cross my mind bcus it has kept me from ordering the past 7mo. A full sandwich is great but over stuffed and needing to swap the bread for that sog is not great.
