The owner passed away June of this year. So Sorry for the families loss. Stopped there this evening was looking forward to having dinner there with my family and saw the sign on the door. Hopefully the family will decide to eventually reopen. I miss the amazing food and hospitality.

My kids and I tried to eat there on Saturday June 29, 2024, but it was closed. We wondered why. My kids had wanted to tell Spiro about our recent trip to Greece, since he had given us recommendations.
Today I learned that Spiro (the owner) passed away that day. I guess it was kind of fitting to that we were thinking of him.
RIP Spiro.

Been going here for years ,owner is personable and kind ,he makes amazing food .Portions are very large and delicious.we live going when we have time we trade books about one block away and Eat ,at this restaurant on a half day or longer trip to Wooster Ohio..We will keep going back.My youngest sister and my brother in law,who don't live in my city ,they go as well

We’re so happy we finally tried Matsos! The food was delicious and the portions are very generous. We ordered a pita pizza to split as an appetizer plus our meals came with salads and garlic bread - we were stuffed before our meals even came out! Mr. Matsos is such a pleasure to talk with! He’s so welcoming and kind. It’s very impressive how well he runs his business and makes it such a personal experience. We can’t wait to go back and try more!

Absolutely loved this place! We got 2 dinners with salad and garlic bread and a Keke pizza. The pizza was amazing and our dinners were amazing also. The owner Spiro was a delite. He was so friendly and we enjoyed talking to him so much. We will definitely make the 2.5 hour trip again to eat there and visit Spiro again! ❤️

Spiro Matsos is the owner. He is in his 80's and does almost everything on his own. I've been eating here for years. My family enjoys the eggplant parm, pizza, spaghetti, gyros, and vegtable lasagna. It is an experience to eat here. Do not go if you are in a hurry. The food is good, portions are huge, and he should be charging more. Spiro always makes a point to visit with my kids. He speaks to them in such a joyful, kind manner. He tells them true, inspirational stories about his life and he encourages them to "work hard and do good things always." Spiro Matsos is one of a kind.
Tried it 4 times and can’t seem to find anything I like. But they try hard and the service is good. Atmosphere takes u back to the 1900’

(Closed Sunday-Tuesday) Prepare for a long visit. Food is always good here. But if it would be anyone other than Mr Matsos I would not recommend this place. The man is elderly and is the cook, server and cashier. I believe his only employee washes dishes. We arrived about 6:15 on a Wednesday and there were only 2 other tables. Everything took a long time, to be seated, to have water and menus, to take our orders... The bread used to be hot and it was barely warm. After being there close to an hour and 15 minutes for sandwiches, we still didn't have the bill and only got it when my mom went into the kitchen and asked. Our waters were empty before the meal and never refilled. I saw other customers help themselves to a water pitcher. The poor man had To-Go orders and a couple tables and simply couldn't keep up. Why he doesn't have help, I don't know.
