Olde Jaol Steakhouse and Tavern

I'll never come back. My wife and I stopped in around 1:30 this afternoon (Saturday) for lunch and drinks. There were people there, but I wouldn't call it busy. The hostess seated us and gave us our menus and silverware. We sat and sat and sat without anyone paying attention to us even though servers were waiting on other tables, taking orders and bringing food. It was like we were invisible. I couldn't even get any of them to make eye contact. We probably sat there 15-20 minutes, then we just left.

Very neat old jail house made into a restaurant. Food was ok. We had the filet and it was a little dry, but tasty. Our waiter made the dinner worth it. Very nice young man that was there whenever we needed him. Recommend trying just for the atmosphere and history.

Good food and great service. We had a large party (12+) and we're able to be seated in 20 minutes. Our server did a great job keeping everybody's order straight as we were scattered throughout the room.

Great steak in the basement (old prison of Wooster). Good service in a genuine place

The search for great fish and chips continues. Went there on a Thursday. The rest of my party got the perch, they've had the perch before, I got the fish and chips.
At best it was good. Definitely hot. The cod was thin, a heavy breading. The chips were fries. I can't even remember where I actually had great fish and chips.

We came in and sat for 20 min and no one came over to even take our drink order, it's like no one acknowledged that we were there. People came in after us and we're acknowledged. Drove 30 min away to try. Terrible servic

My daughter was excited to take us here for dinner when we came in for parents weekend at Wooster but it wasn't great. I think they were overwhelmed with people and maybe not enough staff? Our waitresses seemed overrun. Food was mediocre at best. Might try again if we were there on a day when they are not busy.

It was our 5 year anniversary and i called to ask if i could reserve two seat at the bar cause this is the place i met my wife. Turns out i was talking to the bartender for the next night. She said she would have two seats for us. She had an anniversary card for us and was an awesome time

They don't handle busy hours very well. Food suffered as well as service so to a small dinner rush. Hopefully our next visit goes better

Got here at 430 and the waitress had an issue with a large party. She made rude comments about the party size of 16 even though we let them know. It was 430, I asked for the prime rib and she said "sure... but it won't be ready until 530" and then walked away without a conversation.. came back 5 minutes later and said "what is your choice, wait or pick something else... " she never refilled my drink and had a bad attitude the entire time. Then came back 40 minutes later and filled my tea cup with water after asking for a refill 3 times. Chrystal has a horrible attitude. I get large parties are difficult... but the attitude was unnecessarily.

Shit was super adequate. I had 0 complaints. Service was on point like a ballpoint pen.

The food was very good but took a very long time to get it. They were almost uncomfortably full, making it hard to hear conversation with the people right next to us. Will definitely try again.
