This is, in a way, a place that is home for me for the past few decades. Tonight I shared a lovely dinner with friends for Valentine's Day as a celebration of life for our departed mutual life friend. The service was wonderful, the town just as amazing as it was in the 90's, and the food absolutely lovely. The Winds Cafe is an Ohio treasure of creative cuisine with a very human touch. Thank you, for all these moments.
My husband and I were running errands and walked by the restaurant. It was time for lunch so we decided to give it a try, even though we were underdressed for a sit down lunch at the time. I am so glad we did. The food was phenomenal and the service was exceptional. We each had the Beaune Burger and when I say that was the best burger (with pickled vegetables as a side), I truly mean that. The flavor was absolutely incredible and it was cooked perfectly. We will definitely return.
I can't say enough about how good things were at Winds Cafe. From the cocktails to the small plates, to the incredible pear spice cake for dessert, we were consistently impressed. Every dish we tried, upped the game...even the bread course was out of this world. The staff was also, just top-tier. Attentive, but never hovered or smothered.
