They say it's the oldest bar in Ohio est 1827. Food has a German flair and was excellent there is even outdoor seating.

We ate at Ye Olde Tavern in early August. We sat outside and it was pretty warm, but we had a great experience with our food and service. I had the turkey Reuben. The turkey looked like it was roasted turkey breast and they chopped it and mixed it in with what I’m assuming was homemade sauerkraut. this was a delicious way to make a Reuben! I also loved the German potato salad. The food was delicious and fresh. Whitney was our server and she and the other team members took very good care of us. I highly recommend Ye Olde Tavern!

Wow. Delicious German favorites served in a historic building. I had a Reuben made with a Bratwurst which was delicious. They also have a more traditional Reuben called The Hafner. Warm German potato salad was excellent and the cole slaw was creamy and vinegar based which was a tasty surprise. The warm pretzels sticks with bier cheese were the softest I've ever had. You won't be disappointed! Our server, Ellen, was so accommodating and gracious. We will be back!

Okay so this is a bit of a ghost story. I had no idea about the restaurants history what so ever I just remember I sat down with two friends I had a great server and amazing food however, I started to get hot like insanely hot and I smelled smoke. I went to the bathroom to splash some water on my face where the smoke started filling the bathroom. I started to panic and boom it was gone. I went back to the table finished our lovely meal but I couldn't let it go so I asked the waitress if they burned something in the kitchen or had vents connected she said no. So I looked up the history of the building. It had a major fire alright. Right in the area we were sat. I love this restaurant and id be back but id rather not be choked out by the ether

Built around a log cabin that I'm guessing was a tavern back in the olden days - or at least that's what it feels like. Fun mix of sandwiches and heartier fare with a German twist. Plus, there's that whole thing about a ghost 😳

This place did not live up to the hype. While the food was good and well prepared there was much lacking for this to be a good experience. To start the wait staff could use some etiquette training. It was disappointing that the AC was not working on such a hot day. The building itself missed the mark. With such a historic building I expected much more. The cleanliness was lacking, the bathrooms were disgusting and more than a little maintenance needed attention. All in all, find someplace else.

Overall, this is a fun place to find good German food, and I was surprised to have found several vegetarian options, too. The inside of the restaurant is smaller than what you’d expect because it is a historic tavern, so if you’re tall (like my husband who is 6’4”), you might want to opt to sit outside if it is a nice day to be more comfortable. I’ll also say that this restaurant can be a bit pricey. After an appetizer, two brats, and four beers (two for me and two for my husband), our bill was $75 before tip. Based on the portion sizes, that seemed high. So, I do recommend a visit here, just be ready for a higher bill at the end. But the atmosphere is enjoyable and does make it worth it.

Super cool building. Love the history of the place. When we went it wasn't super busy.. we only got apps which came out pretty quick. Definitely recommend the pretzels! I give service a 3/5 stars because our server never came to check on us or get us refills the whole time we were there.

I visited today with hopes of having some good food and drink. I didn't get the chance. They were really busy, which is fine. I'm usually pretty patient.

The bar was full, so I was seated outside. I sat for 20 minutes. I wasn't acknowledged or even offered water. I got up and left. I guess you need to be part of a large party or a regular to get good service.
