Some really nice vegan options! Great and fun bar-like environment, outdoor patio too. Have a small veg section on their menu! The cadillac cauliflower and their tofu are both prepared very well. As of today there is no hummus on the menu (a deal breaker for some!!). The staff is helpful and very willing to accomodate special diets. Many GF options as well! Italian Greens Cafillac Cauliflower Fried Green Tomatoes (no blue cheese aoli) BlackBean & Impossible Burger Edamame And more all great! Worth a stop while you are in Youngstown, Ohio. Defined vegetarian/vegan part of the menu making it very clear! Reasonable choices & friendly service

Had a portabello sandwich, asked for it vegan but it came out with cheese on it. They said it was vegan cheese but expect to pay a lot more for the vegan bun and cheese. It was very oily, the whole bun was soaked in oil. My brother ordered a diet pop and tofu rice dish. His rice dish was soupy, insultingly watery. The pop was flat too. There was supposed to be mushrooms in it but very few mushrooms in the dish, he counted about 3. Waiter seemed upset to be working. Utterly disappointing. This place used to be so much better. Nice to have more than one option. There’s a section on the back of the menu for vegetarian/vegan dishes. It included beyond burger, portabella Sammie, tofu/rice. I got the portabella and had it veganized with vegan cheese and bun- make sure that is abundantly clear when ordering- came out with regular cheese. I just said “make it vegan” instead of itemizing the substitutes one by one… the waitress plugs in your order at the table on some electronic thing so just say both cuz i think she just clicked on the bun and might not even realized there was another vegan substitute.

I’ve never eaten at the Magic Tree and we’re always looking for new places to go. The night started off well as we had a few drinks before everyone arrived. The service was pretty good to start but things quickly unraveled. We placed our dinner orders and the nightmare began. One of our friends ordered wings, they were out of wings. On a Saturday night. Another person ordered a burger, medium well. It came back rare as could be. Another person ordered broiled fish dinner. And the waitress came back with a fried fish sandwich, to which we said nobody ordered that. She briefly took it away only to bring it back and set it in front of the person who didn’t order it. And left. Another person got his burger 20 minutes after the rest of us without bacon as was ordered and with pub chips instead of fries. He said I ordered fries, yeah we’re out of fries. On a Saturday night. Didn’t come to him and say oh we’re out of fries anything else you’d like instead? Nope, it was here ya go hope you like em instead of having an option. So an absolute disaster, expensive drinks ($15 old fashioned in Boardman is hilarious) and subpar service, along with a romper room of screaming kids right next to the bar that nobody said anything about. What an amazing night. I’d never step foot in this place again. F-

I was glad to find a place with a vegan burger so I could get a meal with some protein but it was nothing special. They also brought me a side of fries (which appeared to have non-vegan cheese) that I did not ask for and did not put the vegan cheese I requested on the burger. My boyfriend (not veg) was not impressed with the food either.

That was the most terrible dinner I have had in a long time. The pretzel was overdone. Two out of three orders were wrong. The beer in our flight was in the wrong order. Unfortunately with a discount it was still like 80$ and although the waitress was super nice I didn't leave a good tip because I was so disgusted. That was the last time I will visit that place.

We’ve been coming here for several years for our family Christmas party and always have had superb service and food. However this time was purely awful. The service was fairly decent but the food was awful. We started off with raw chicken, next was over cooked pork tenderloin, followed by hard potatoes, a bowl of salad that probably only served 10 and no rolls or butter. All of this or should I say lack of was $71 per couple including tip. We did take up additional collection for our server as this was not his fault. I can assure you they lost our business!

They have four vegan options on their menu, Portabella mushroom, potato and broccoli pierogies, impossible burger, and a Gyro made with impossible meat slices. I asked for the Portabella mushroom to be cooked without the marinade and they were happy to grill it for me. They also made the greens without cheese, and I paid extra for a vegan bun. I had the roasted edamame as my side dish. They also have a strawberry vegetarian salad with strawberries and nuts, I've had it before without the cheese. It's nice to have a restaurant that has more than one vegan option.

I was excited to try this place, but the first time the wait was too long for us and the second time they didn’t have the option I wanted, and I didn’t love what I ended up getting. Will try again though and update!

I've always enjoyed the Magic Tree, even from before I was vegan. I live out of town now but have come home for a visit and went with family. It was great that it catered to everyone. The vegan meals we had were the Gyro salad which was excellent, perogies were nice but very stodgy with some "greens" on top that were pathetic (would have been better to have half the portion with a side salad) "Macaroni" and cheese was terrible (it wasn't even Macaroni noodles) A little bit expensive but you do get plenty of food for your money. All-in-all I would happily return. Updated from previous review on 2022-09-02

I would never have guessed this place would cater to vegans, but they had four options clearly labeled on their menu, and were helpful with additions or substitutions. The food, however, was a bit meh. The vegan burger was rather sad, and the vegan mac 'n' cheese tasted oddly sweet. The place was also very loud and packed on a Saturday night, and it took about 30 minutes to get our food. This place is great if you're traveling with omnivores or picky eaters.

Wonderful place to stop and refuel while traveling across Ohio. Our waiter was hopping! Large selection of food with vegan and vegetarian choices. Food arrived quickly, was hot and tasty. Food was moderately priced. We did not have their beers but they have a wide selection. We would definitely stop again.

My wife and I were in town and found this restaurant. It’s a nice sit down bar with plenty of tables outside of the bar area. Lots of beers and cocktails, 4 vegan menu items (impossible burger, broccoli pierogi, lettuce cups, and mushroom burger). We would definitely recommend the mushroom burger and lettuce cups that we had. They also had tons of sides including vegan Mac n cheese, edamame, and asparagus. Food tasty. Both my husband I ordered food that was spicier than we expected but very tasty. I enjoyed the homemade black bean burger. Loved the vinegar cole slaw side. I held the onion and chipotle mayo. I requested the Cadillac buffalo garlic sauce on the side, but it was way too spicy for me.
