Not what it used to be…
We’ve been coming here for years, and it honestly bums me out to say this, but it’s just not the same anymore. The service is still awesome, and the prices are fair, but the food quality has really taken a hit.
This place used to be the spot for great BBQ, but lately it feels like they’ve made a bunch of changes - and not in a good way. The BBQ pork had a strange texture, the brisket was overcooked, the ribs were super tough, and the cornbread? Dry, cold, and crumbled apart in my hands. At least the sauce is still good.
Sadly, this has been the case the last few times we’ve visited. Really hoping they turn it around and can bring it back to what it used to be.

We had a 70th birthday dinner for my father. We’ve been coming for years when we’re in town from Cleveland. Has always been our favorite. This time around service was amazing as we had a party of 18. Some changes in recipes not a fan. Cornbread was dry & crumbly. Hard to eat because it just crumbled. Brisket was over cooked & on dry side. Ribs not as tender as per usual but still delicious. Please don’t ever change your sauce.

Thrilled with our experience here! We came in over the weekend, a group of 20, after YSU graduation to have a family celebration. The staff was so generous and helpful throughout our 3 hours of being there. The food all came out at the same time, which was super impressive, and everyone was happy with the quality of their meal. The food here is the best! Our waitress was awesome, she was always there if we needed her and checked in on us the perfect amount, so we didn’t feel bothered but we also didn’t feel abandoned. We were seated at the large table in the “upstairs” dining area. It was perfect for our large group and the environment was very aesthetically pleasing, beautiful edison bulb lighting and decorations above the table, as well. After leaving, my husband and I just kept mentioning how great the food and service was for such a large group. I cannot imagine that a meal out for 20 people, including 3 young children, could have gone smoother. Thanks to our waitress (wish I remembered her name, hopefully this review rings some bells for management and she gets the recognition she deserves!) and all staff at Barry’s! Aside from this experience, we have always had great experiences ordering Barry Dyngles, usually carryout. The food never disappoints and the staff is awesome! We have never ordered food we didn’t enjoy. Highly recommend!

First time coming here. My gf had been here in the past and was very excited to take me. Let's start with the odd decor. Random pallets hanging from the ceiling are odd, but I was optimistic that the food would be better than their odd taste of decor. I ordered the smoked brisket with a side of Mac n cheese. She ordered the Sunday special, which was the chicken, ribs, and pulled pork, with a side of Mac and Brussel sprouts. Almost an hour after we ordered, we finally got the food! My sandwich was lacking any actual brisket. It was extremely skimpy with 3 small thin slivers on it. I would be embarrassed to serve something like that for 15 dollars. The best part of my meal was the Mac n cheese. I asked how her meal was and notices a big pile of fat on the side where she had to put all her pulled pork because they don't trim any fat off anything here I was told by the bartender. So it was a pile of mush. The chicken was so dry that even bbq sauce didn't help get it down. So she couldn't even eat it. I tried it, and it tasted like it was left in the smoker way too long. Her favorite thing was the Brussel sprouts. On our way home, we both got sick to our stomachs, so just a heads up, we absolutely won't be coming back to this place again.
To summarize after spending over 60 dollars we both went home unhappy and with stomach pains. And the dog is getting the dried up chicken

Dish washer here. Food is fantastic, service is fast (as an employee its instant), food is free if you work here. All co workers are friendly and relaxed, patient with training as this is my first job and makes me feel welcome.
Went here a few times in 2022 as normal customer, food was still great and service was good as a normal customer as well.
Overall good place from both perspectives of being employed here as well as a regular customer.
Had reservations, showed up early, got seated and the waiter never came back to check on us or bring any other drinks. We had to stop another waitress and ask her to get us another drink. He ended up bringing it but made the excuse that he has a large party in the bar that he is taking care of. Pretty sure he forgot about us. We left after an hour when we saw everyone else around us getting their food. I think he just forgot about us and maybe had too many tables to take care of. I was really looking forward to the brisket and brussel sprouts.

We were so excited to try this place. Our carry out order immediately crushed any enthusiasm we were feeling. The brisket was particularly bad, with a couple sliced mostly fat and the others overcooked and dry. We won’t be back.

The best bbq in Ohio! Compared to a lot of other BBQ states I’ve been to, they are definitely worth the trip! They make their own sauce and smoke the meat on site. Definitely try them when you’re in the area, I’ll be back!
