Passing through town and stopped by for dinner. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious, and the large bar area looked like a great spot for both locals and visitors. It definitely seems like a cozy neighborhood favorite. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Very good ! Had the cheese curd burger to go
Always a great place for after work snack and drinks
Feel bad leaving a bad review, but really disappointed. My friends & I come here often for the drink specials & wing night. We were disappointed when this amount of fries came out for $4.99. Ranch and dipping sauce is not included, for an extra $1.50. This is in no way $6.50 worth of food. We mentioned it to the waitress and she told us “that’s just how they come”. It does seem like they skimp out on the apps and sides when we dine. EDIT: The owner called me personally and was extremely kind and helpful. I always appreciate management who genuinely cares about their customers!
Stopped in for a bite to eat and the food, atmosphere, and service were all great. No ask on the wellness of my burger but maybe there is a reason for this. I had looked at the prices ahead of time and knew they were about average for bar/tavern food now a days, but what was disappointing was the portion of french fries that came with my burger. It's like you want me to pay way more than fast food prices for a burger, and even though you are paying for a higher quality burger, the sides should make up a bit for the higher prices. The person I was with also got a similar amount so I have to assume tiny portions are also on the menu. Disappointed for sure. If I was local I wouldn't be a regular for sure.
I don’t do reviews often but this service was just the worst that I have ever seen so I am figuring out how to write one for our evening. Food was good but we had to go get our own drinks, the one time we saw our waiter drinks we’re asked for but they never came. We never saw him again and we were there for almost 2 hours. We actually thought he quite. Our food was brought out by other random people who ran away as fast as they could,as we were all trying to ask for more drinks. One person never got their meal and had to ask for it 2 times and it came after everyone was done and she was expected to pay full amount. No offer to do anything for her having to go find someone 2 times to ask where is her meal. Yes we had a larger party but it was not that busy but we could have been asked how are things and at least given us drinks. Even if food was late, could have at least keep us drinking and everything would have been fine. We would have gotten so much more if we just had any kind of service so they lost lots of money for never coming back to ask if we need anything. Even our kids had a bad experience, Our kids got sprite and it was bad, it had to have no syrup but was told they have zero sugar sprite. If really true tell the kids this is zero sugar so it’s nasty and they can pick something else because as kids out for dinner this is the only time they get soda so who wants zero sugar.
The sandwich I had was a little too salty. Other than that, the service was good. There looked to be a party on the patio which tended to carry over to the bar area and was very loud.
Both of us got really sick after eating the shrimp. We both got food poisoning and I ended up in the hospital
Table for 7 last night and will not be back. Don't order the chicken strips, they weren't strips! They were very poor quality. The rest of the group mostly got burgers and they were poor quality.
Disappointed in the fish dinner better fish at arbys. Also shrimp skewers were all dried up and ready to blow away. Cauliflower bites were awesome. Someone get them a quality Italian dressing please. I've been coming here for a long time always had great "bar" food but not tonight. Sorry

Me and my boyfriend were passing through Youngstown and stumbled upon Bull & Bear. It looked like our kind of spot and caught our attention so we stopped for a snack. I've been a long term employee in the hospitality industry so we love to try new local spots when we end up in a new town. The establishment was way larger than anticipated, and it was set up so well, at first we couldn't tell if it was a chain or private owned (which speaks volumes on the private owners. It's a well put together environment) They had a killer happy hour menu, me and my boyfriend had 3 apps and 2 rounds of drinks each and our total was close to $28. Only reason it was even that much was because I ordered an actual drink. And the bartenders Laura (and I don't remember the other one's name that was working, I feel terrible because she also was great) were patient, attentive, polite and knowledgeable. There was a root beer schnapps on the self, and me being a craft cocktail bartender it caught my attention. The girls were awesome with experimenting to come up with a drink for me that ended up being great. We don't know if we'll ever end up in Youngstown again, but my boyfriend and I both agreed we would definitely stop here again if the opportunity ever arrises. Keep up the good work and congrats on your newly opened location we were told about!

Our visit to Bull and Bear after YSU graduation was truly underwhelming. We had reservations for 4 PM and were seated right away as it wasn’t busy. Unfortunately, that was one of the few positives of the experience.
Walking in, we noticed sticky floors, sticky menus, and dirty bathrooms—an immediate red flag.
The service was slow, but the server was at least apologetic. Oddly enough, the manager didn’t address the issues until after we had paid the bill. How convenient.
The food took just under an hour to arrive and was shockingly cold. For a restaurant that wasn’t busy, this was unacceptable. The wings came with the wrong sauce, and whatever it was, it was unidentifiable and unpleasant. Everyone at the table tried it, and we all agreed it was awful.
We were starving, so we ate begrudgingly, but the food was disappointing overall.
Burgers are weird and spongy, fries were tasteless. The salad had definitely been sitting all day. I couldn't eat it.
This visit was a letdown from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this place, and we definitely won’t be back.
