I wasn't gonna say anything but as the days have went on ... I get more irritated... my mother had recently passed and my fiancé thought taking me out for a Thanksgiving meal would make it easier ... we had reservations for 2 @4p ... there was a wait, which we expected.... since it was crowded we asked the hostess if we could wait @the bar and she assured me it was fine and she would come get us when our table was ready ... while at the bar we seen the hostess come and get different people when their table was ready and we patiently waited, no big deal... after we waited for almost 45-1 hr my fiancé told me to go check and see if there was an issue ... when I went to the hostess area the whole room was empty ... everyone had been seated ... she forgot us!!(we were not the last people to check in, we checked in at 3:40..several people checked in after us and she admitted she forgot us and never even offered an apology) After they hurried to clear a table for us ... we ordered an appetizer and when she brought it to the table ... she advised us that there were no clean silverware... we asked how we were supposed to eat our appetizer ...how can you serve someone food and give no silverware??!!! so she went and found some plastic silverware (if I wanted to use plastic silverware I would have went for take out at Bob Evans ... after a wait she brought us real silverware... now to the food ... we got greens as our appetizer ... I have never had bad greens (one of my favorites) but these greens were the worst!! It was basically over cooked (boiled)lettuce with zero taste 🤢... he ordered chicken parm and it was delicious... I opted for a traditional meal ... the waitress informed me AFTER I placed my order that the kitchen had to scramble to make my plate ... no green beans ... my side dish was more of the boiled lettuce (greens) umm why would I want what I had ordered as my appetizer as my side dish (which was horrible in the first place and I only received maybe a teaspoon (and that's being generous) of stuffing and I could not eat any of the turkey/gravy/mashed potatoes as there was so much salt I couldn't... If I was informed when I placed my order that they had to scramble to fill the order cause they had run out or whatever ... I would have changed my order... after all of this we still didn't complain ... we asked to take our dessert with us and I wish I would have checked the box before we left ... since I really had no dinner I was excited for the pumpkin pie ... the piece of pie was so small and looked like they had taken a normal slice of pie and split it in thirds!! I can't even say if the pie was good or not because it was basically one bite!! I was not expecting to have a great Thanksgiving but I did not expect such horrible food ... I never expected such horrible food from cafe 422 ... the only pleasant part of our holidays meal there was a sweet older couple we enjoyed chatting with!!!

This review is specific to one experience at Boardman today. I’ve had multiple amazing experiences at the Niles location. I have a dairy allergy, I’ve ordered the chicken Parmesan before and they prepare it the same minus the cheese. I let the server know about my allergy and when she brought the food she told me they didn’t bread it and that it’s just grilled chicken. She should have came out and told me that I would have changed my order but instead she did not tell me and just brought me plain chicken with marinara. She also told me they were doing penne instead of angel hair because they were worried about dairy. This made zero sense to me as it’s pasta either way, just a difference in shape not ingredients. My friend ordered soup and when the waiter brought the soup she spilled some in her martini. No biggie, accidents happen and she remade the martini (which took 20 minutes). During this time my friend did not have a spoon and because the server didn’t come back with the drink for 20 minutes, the soup was cold by the time we were able to ask for the spoon. The cherry on top was when the server offered to pack our food for us, and she then grabbed our bread with her bare hands and put it in our to go box. I genuinely was lost for words.

After reading all the negative posts I really didn't expect a good experience. I don't know what these people were complaining about. There were 6 in our group and everyone ordered something different and everyone raved how good their dinner was. And the service was excellent. They even gave us bread which u don't get in a lot of places or u have yo pay for it. We all thought the prices were reasonable. I had to eggplant Parm, salad, and bread $15.99

My husband and I stopped in on a Friday night and sat on the patio (I always appreciate the option to sit outside!). I had the Mediterranean salad with salmon - sooo good! The portion of salmon was huge as well. Shout out to our waitress Jessica! She was super friendly and attentive (would love to have her again).
