Visited Crickets while in town for YLive. Food and service were both amazing! the pomegranate honey flavored wings and Handel’s ice cream/brownie were so so good! Our server Katie was top notch!! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Nice place with a lot of character and characters. What keeps me coming back? I can go out and smoke with a roof over my head.

This is not the kind of post I like to make, but I feel obligated to speak up after what happened to me and my family at Crickets Bar and Grill in Youngstown, Ohio. What was supposed to be a simple evening out turned into an unnecessary and humiliating confrontation—all over a misunderstanding that could’ve easily been resolved if the staff had acted like professionals. Instead, they escalated the situation, fueled by petty gossip and immaturity. Then things took a dark, personal turn. I was verbally harassed multiple times, told explicitly and loudly to “go suck some male genitalia.” This wasn’t just disrespectful—it was homophobic, hateful, and deeply wrong. I’ve been out and proud for years, and as a former bartender at Utopia Video Night Club, I never once had an issue with my identity. I’m now married with three children, and I don’t need to justify who I am to anyone—especially not to insecure staff trying to act superior because they work in a bar with a long-standing culture of exclusion and arrogance. This place has always had a toxic vibe, and that clearly hasn’t changed. If you’ve ever been judged for who you are or where you’ve worked, Crickets might make you feel like you’re right back in high school—with bullies behind the bar. I’m demanding a formal apology from the ownership and staff. This behavior is unacceptable in any setting, and no one should have to endure that kind of hate just for ordering food and existing as themselves. Please consider this my warning to others—if you value kindness, safety, and basic human respect, look elsewhere.

Went for an early dine with hubs. Had not been here for quite awhile. Nice remodel, friendly staff, good food and fair prices!

Clean place , nice atmosphere, service is good . The fresh frys are great the chili dog's no way, tastes like they use sloppy joe on them with no flavor. Other than that I would go back.

Long story short, our group of 8 was more than disappointed in our service, food order and xmas drink orders that were offered on their menu. Each of our bills were completely inaccurate. one person got her food order 15 mins before she even got a drink. On several occasions we had to go back up to the bar to ask where our drinks where at(mind you only 2 servers on this side of the inside part of the restuarant). Two people didn't get their salads that came with their meal, and when asking the server if she could just box it up, she never did and completely forgot. This all occurring on a Saturday afternoon (reservation) at 2 in the afternoon while the entire restaurant was not busy and everyone there before us had already had drinks and/or food. We made it as easy as possible and I indicated to her upon arriving that each of us would be on a separate bill, trying to make it easy. Once the food arrived, she seemed to have disappeared. During our time there, we watched about 4 or 5 other people sit down, never get acknowledged or served and walk out. Each of our checks were completely inaccurate as well. While I completely understand the hustle and bustle of servers especially during the holiday season, there was absolutely no reason for the mess yesterday. The 2nd bartender on the inside never even assisted or seemed to help out our server. At one point, we saw our tray of drinks just sitting in the back for over 10 mins just waiting for them to get brought to our table. If you are looking for a xmas pop bar/restuarant, don't waste your time going here. While the thought was there, it was not worth the Hassel and poor service.

So went to wind day and ordered wings the waitress said the jack bbq wings was good so ordered them she bring them out and they was clearly not bbq in any way shape or form ! Proceed to look for her to let her know they was teriyaki wings and not bbq she is MIA for the longest . Comes out of the bathroom and disappears again before coming to our table ! We proceed to tell her they are not the flavor we wanted she goes in kitchen comes back to explain they put teriyaki Saint EIN the bbq wings sauce . Are u kidding me who does this if I wanted teriyaki I would have ordered that flavor ! She keeps saying I’m sorry they must have changed they sauce and don’t even offer to get something else or anything no manager no discount no substitute she just said I’m sorry and proceeded to walk away ! Smh
Then the issue with the gnats all around was just horrible !!! When I tell u the whole experience was a nightmare ! I will never go back there again !
