I've eaten at Gold Star Thai Cuisine in the Marc's Plaza in Austintown several times. They are a larger place, usually only a cook and one person waiting tables. It's more tuned for carry out, but eating inside is how I've always had their food. I'm giving it a five because although the service can be a bit slow if the takeouts are busy, and the interior is a bit drab, the food is great. I reccomend the stew type dishes, as well as the Pad Thai. They do a 1 to 4 heat scale, and in this place, a four is plenty hot! Believe me! So get a 2 for heat. The pics are the Wife's Pad Thai w/extra peanuts. Curry is something I really like, and the green curry is outstanding, come with noodles on the side, so you can grab noodles, swirl in curry, eat. Or just eat the curry, no noodle. Or just alternate. The green curry has potatoes, which to me, are perfect with curry. They have a huge parking lot, and I'm jealous if you live nearby Gold Star Thai in Austintown because if I did, it would be once a week, every week.
The style, and I want to make sure I put this down, is more a country style of Thai food. It's rich and hearty and filling. It's not like the other places I've eaten Thai for this reason. I had friend in the Air Force who are married to Thai Ladies. This is that style of authentic, hearty Thai. It's delicious.
Vegetarian options: It's real Thai, so if you're all "did that pan touch chicken ever?" Answer probably yes, but all good can be made vegetarian if you just don't want to eat meat.
Parking: Right on Mahoning ave, east, take your pick.

The food was good, staff was friendly, but I'll never dine in again. The smell and flies really killed my appetite.

They were soooo slow! I waited over then minutes beyond when the order was supposed to be ready and the place smelled soooo gross! It smelled like they let a crowd of homeless people pee on the floor every morning ? Clean your carpets!!

It literally smells like cat piss in the store. This is the most disgusting Thai restaurant I have ever been and I go to them all over the country.

Grub hub delivered 3 hours early shorted one meal. Called restaurant and owner hung up on me. Curry was good but 3 other meals were supposed to have shrimp and didn't. Last chance with this restaurant
Great Thai
Went here to eat at ten minutes after their opening time on a Wednesday and they weren’t open. Not a good business decision
It was a wonderful experience! The food is delicious and home made. PK was a great server as well. Sai is a wonderful cook! She even gave us complimentary soup to go with the great basil chicken stir fry. Really enjoyed this experience and we had so much fun. Thank you Gold Star!? We will return for sure. ?

Solid Thai food. Good food, but recommend take-out instead of dining in.

Very authentic Thai food. It's been very hard to find Thai food in the area since moving here from Portland that have real Thai food. This place nails it!

I ordered beef panang curry to go, it was probably one of the best panang currys I've eaten. The flavor was delicious, obviously there always could be more beef but I'll take a great flavor over quantity any day! I'm so glad we finally have a Thai restaurant in Austintown!!
