Ordered pizza--for the sake of the owners, I would like to say something nice, but I am sorry, it was the worst pizza I've ever had. I was hungry so ate a couple pieces, took the rest home and threw it out. I had also ordered eggplant parm to go, which I tried to eat the next day--again, threw it out..
The crust on the pizza was definitely not homemade, which is okay, but I've had much better pre-made crusts It had a funky taste. Plus, there was hardly any sauce on the pizza.
The eggplant tasted like maybe it had been frozen for a long time; just bad.
Wedding soup had no sugar Pastina but otherwise tasty. The sauce is really good but the meatballs are so full of breadcrumbs they should be called ‘Breadballs’ not a fan of those & I asked for Unsweetened Iced Tea & was served that syrup kind of tea ? even the diet sodas are ‘made’ from a fountain with a syrup so I was underwhelmed. The young man who served my food was delightful. Him I liked. I’m thinking they’re trying to cut costs & it’s affected the food. I’m 1st generation Italian so for me these things are noticeable but the average American customer won’t notice.

This review is going to confused some, but will understand it by the end. To me, LaRoccas food, by far, is the BEST Italian food in this area hands down. The reason that I gave the restaurant only one star follows: when did customers start paying for credit card processing fees. Credit card processing fees will typically cost a business 1.5% to 3.5% of each transaction's total. Fees are merchants (businesses) responsibility, and not the customer. So you understand what I'm talking about, I will explain it. When a business accepts a credit card from their customers, they pay a small fee as described above. That has been established since credit cards came out long ago. Since Covid, many are asking for tips also. When did we start paying a tip at our local sub shop simply in picking up our sub? Tipping follows: most WAITSTAFF in restaurants are paid low wages, and tipping provides them with an opportunity to supplement their income. In some cases, tips can make up a significant portion of a server's income. This is particularly important in countries where the minimum wage is not enough to support a decent standard of living. That is NOT the case at sandwich shops, and many other types of businesses that now are asking for tips. Are we really going to tip people who are doing their job, and are getting paid for their services from their employer? Remember the above description of a tip (most waitstaff in restaurants)! That is NOT the case in non restaurant settings. A lot of restaurants are asking for tips simply while picking up a to go order! I am the farthest from a cheap person, and quite frankly, I can't stand cheap people! While at RESTAURANTS, I always give a large tip even when it is not due at times. Some servers do not do their job sufficiently, and I realize that they are human too. We don't know what anyone is going through at the moment, so I try to always show compassion to my fellow man. Since Covid, many are being cheated, and some don't even realize it. All the above being said, I have nothing against the owners of LaRoccas. I will NOT frequent their restaurant anymore based on the above until they eliminate charging people for what they are responsible for as a business. Credit card processing fees are part of business. That has been the norm since credit cards were issued. This is simply principle to me, and I am not responsible for any business that is now charging customers a fee for using their credit cards. If I find out from others that LaRoccas stopped imposing their responsible fees as a business to the public, I will then remove this review.

The food was alot better than in prior visits. My only gripe is the extra charge for using a credit card. They over charge enough to absorb that cost.
