Main Moon Chinese Restaurant (Austintown)

Shrimp 🦐 LoMein was Okay, Skip The Egg roll. Overall it was Okay.

I usually get chicken fried rice from all the main moons in the area, Boardman by far has been the best at cooking the rice and chicken, Youngstown wasn't bad, I love how they added scrambled eggs, Austintown is great too except that some days the rice and chicken are burnt, I don't like burnt anything.

Waiting at time given it would be done in drive thru and they are quick to take the money but then if someone is behind you they want you to come inside? Why have a drive thru then? Makes zero sense. After double the time we were told the rude guy at window FINALLY gives us our order and we get home, rice is over cooked and gooey and the shrimp egg was under cooked and raw. Totally discussed with this place. Never will I waste my money here again. Unbelievable. Rather drive from Austintown to Howland at least they are top notch with food and service. Lesson learned

Our first time ordering from this location, we got the sweet and sour chicken and bbq square ribs (boneless) combo dinners. They both came with choice of rice (white, pork fried rice, or plain fried rice) and roast pork rolls. Everything was neatly packed with utensils and fortune cookies, portions were abundant, and it was very tasty! The square ribs could have been cooked more evenly, some pieces were soft and others were chewy. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a quick and cheap dinner!

My family has eaten at this restaurant for years and we have always been Main Moon loyal. After today I don’t know. After years of eating here I had my first bad experience today. I got. Large order of General Tso chicken. I don’t know if I spelled it right. With a side of what was supposed to be chicken fried rice. The chicken was okay still not the best. The rice was more like onion fried rice it was so much onion in there. No carrots no peas the chicken was Bland absolutely no flavor, the rice was bland as well. Usually when I get this order I have a few pieces of broccoli in there. I don’t know if the usual cook took the day off or what. 🤨 I will give them another chance this being my first negative experience in years but if it happens again can’t do it. Food is too expensive to be wasting money on something you can’t eat.

Ordered pork lo mein with hardly any pork in it or vegetables and it was dry as could be! Added a couple of packs of teriyaki sauce which made it better, but still! The egg roll was also burned on the outside although good inside! Would not recommend!

Avoid This Place at All Costs!

I got food poisoning last Wednesday, and it lasted a miserable three days. It was some of the worst sickness I’ve ever experienced—nausea, stomach cramps, severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, and everything that comes with bad food. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If you value your health, stay far away from this place. Clearly, they have serious food safety issues. Consider yourself warned!

Go thur the drive thur at least ones a week, lady window is supper sweet, can't eat inside

I didnt go and pick up so I can't speak on atmosphere.
I placed order for lunch combo general tso with steamed rice and small side of bbq spareribs.

Rice was last night rice, so dried out and cold. The chicken was not even spicy at all and extremely too much breading.
Don't even mention how the bbq spareribs were probably week old. Extremely dried out and hard as a rock.

Not exactly sure why I got a soup and no egg with a lunch combo.

Last but not least, NO fortune cookie.

Can not recommend this place.
Btw this was at 11 am when they just opened.

absolutely horrible. chicken and egg roll were raw. this and the boardman location are both very bad. zero stars should be an option !

The food was horrible. My first time ordering here and it will be the last! My husband's peppers teak was tough and over cooked. I had sweet and sour chicken, it was dry tasteless and so hard you could barely bite into it. So we're the egg rolls. If I could give a zero rating I would. 43 dollars in the trash

Good, quick Chinese food for takeout. Simple as that.

All I can say is I love Chinese food that I recommend this place highly

This is my neighborhood Main Moon and I've never had bad food, and they're always nice.
