I came to support my band, who was playing that night (I wasn’t performing myself), and I grabbed a water from the band cooler—something I thought was fine since I was invited by my band. A staff member approached me and, instead of calmly explaining that the water wasn’t for everyone, he ripped it out of my hands, cussed me out, and accused me of stealing. He then went on to complain loudly to other staff, and I was pointed out and watched by security for the rest of the night… all over a bottle of water.
Had someone simply explained the policy, I would’ve gladly put it back or paid for it—no issue. But the way I was treated was completely unnecessary and over the top. After that incident, other staff were dismissive and rude as well for the rest of the evening.
Needless to say, I won’t be coming back, and I definitely won’t be playing or booking anything here in the future. If you’re looking to have a good night, this is not the place—unless you enjoy being disrespected

love love love westside. We have been for bowling, concerts, brunch, themed parties, yoga- you name it and they've probably got it. the staff there are so friendly and the food is amazing. People have said it before but it really is a gem in Youngstown

I’ve been playing there for years, and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. It’s truly a special place in Youngstown. Nate and his crew has always looked out for the community as a whole.
Can’t recommend this place enough, whether your local, a touring band, or just somebody from out of town you should definitely check the place out.

Attended a show at your venue for the first time last night— what a great venue— nice staff - great sound - great bands and plenty of parking— thank you !
Played at Westside Bowl with my band too many times to count. The absolute gem of Youngstown. The staff is always hospitable, professional and are huge supporters of the bands that come through. Free drinks and pizza when you play, the sound is fantastic, convenient backline gear available, the photography is gorgeous, what more could you want in a venue? Cannot recommend Westside Bowl enough!!

From Boston but was in Canton Ohio for work. Saw a cool looking show with mostly local bands about an hour away and decided to check this place out. Didn’t notice it was a bowling alley until I got there, and the place looked great. First grabbed a drink at the bar where all the bar tenders were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in the music scene for the area, and the prices were great (all day happy hour Thursday made them even better). Once I went downstairs to the basement for the show, the space they had looked amazing. Great setup and excellent sound. Highly recommend this place if you’re blowing through like I was.

Stood outside in a 1 hr line to get into the show and missed the opener all because of the staff only having 1 person searching and 1 person checking IDS. Worst show ever. All the fat never been laid security guards are the worst fun police I ever seen in my life. Never going back never wasting my time again. They just need to shut that place down and let someone else run the show.

What a BETTER Way to spend a SUNDAY then ROCKING out to some amazing LIVE Bands and hanging with your friends and My Ohios Christina Bolda was out and about at the Westside Bowl in Youngstown, OH and it was our LUCK that Shallow Side was tearing up the stage and the LockedIN Magazine Team had a blast
