This place was a very pleasant surprise! Everything we ordered was delicious! I can’t recommend the fried cheese app enough! The Cuban and sauerkraut were also fantastic! Tip: take the pickle off of the Cuban and replace it with the sauerkraut! I?

We ate here for dinner for the first time, and what a refreshing experience! The food was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and exactly what the menu stated. We had wood fired pizza, blackened filet tips, and veal schnitzel for entrees, and we were all extremely satisfied! Gonna be back for sure…Well Done! ?

Atmosphere: Very cool old building in historic Zoar. Feels cozy even when they're packed. Food: Out of this world, and we've tried A LOT of the menu Drinks: To quote my fiancé: "The best drink I've ever had in my life" (referring to the smores old fashioned) Service: Super friendly & attentive Overall, this is our favorite restaurant in T-county. We are local and absolutely love having this gem in our backyard. They have awesome weeknight specials too! We love how Donnie's supports the community by sourcing local food. Just a super fun little tavern that everyone should visit. Ps. We've now taken two sets of out-of-town visitors (from bigger cities!) for dinner and both have said Donnie's is up there among the best meals they've ever had.

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago for brunch and we had a party of 8. Everything was really good & we loved the outdoor patio. My only complaint would be that the sandwich I ordered did not come as stated on the menu. I ordered the Praise the Swine and ordered an over medium egg with mustard on the side. The sandwich came without both those items however it was so good that I didn't even notice the missing egg until after I had eaten it ?. Everyone else said their food was good & our server was amazing! We will be back!

My family has supported Donnie’s restaurant since the first week they opened. We dine in monthly and have ordered carry out weekly during the Covid shut down. We enjoy the outdoor patio our kids love playing in the grass after we eat. Last evening we had a group of 9 and sat outdoors as we prefer. My past recents visits have been quite disappointing but I will continue to support this establishment. I understand every place has a off night, but some of the staff is not friendly and do not make you feel very welcome.I ordered the brisket sandwich and so did another person from our party. It was not what either of us was expecting the brisket actually tasted like roast and our fries had a hint of fish flavoring. I generally keep criticism to my self and move on. But this is one of mine and my families favorite dining establishments. My bill for my family of 5 was 96$ and I still left a generous tip. I would never speak bad about this restaurant but if a few things could be changed we would greatly appreciate it.

Server was rude.. I asked if the spinach was local because I have certain allergies to preservatives and she said “I don’t know I think”. Didn’t go ask, didn’t offer, just said I don’t know. I then get my food and it is missing ingredients on the salad. I politely tell the server I think this was supposed to have more toppings on it and she handed me a menu instead of looking or knowing herself. I get not knowing every bit of the menu, but it is your JOB to know what comes on salads, pastas, etc. especially when she was the one who brought it out. It indeed WAS missing toppings that I was paying for. But that is unacceptable to not even attempt to ask and hand me a menu to look for myself. She wasn’t very friendly and I saw her being rude to other wait staff and workers. I shouldn’t be able to see that. And there is no way any produce is local because I had a terrible night with stomach cramps. Don’t advertise as using local ingredients when it’s obvious you don’t…

We had a great experience here! Our server was attentive, funny, but not too pushy. The food was phenomenal - I ordered the filet tips and they were cooked to perfection. Menu items are more intricate than your typical restaurant and you can tell a lot of effort goes into the presentation of the food. Menu prices were reasonable as well. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Food is inconsistent. Asked for a sample of pesto and got a "green" olive oil? Not sure if they forgot the garlic, salt, pepper and pine nuts but was inadequate? Beer selection is good, not exceptional but it's still there as they do capitalize with local microbreweries. I'm not giving up as I've only had a few items. Hear the prime rib is good? We'll see. Definitely don't pass it up, they might surprise you. Service is good and you can't beat the atmosphere, both inside and out.

The food is always amazing. We always try something different ea time we go. The pimento cheese fritters with lump crabmeat is amazing thou seasonal I'm told. Never disappointed when we go. The menu is creative. Love it.

This is the best restaurant in 20 miles, worth the drive! I’ve never had a bad meal! When I’m being healthy I get the French onion soup (no croutons) and the strawberry salad, no candied pecans….. when I’m not being healthy, I get the pretzel and the burger. Literally, Every single thing here is great,-Texas

Awesome atmosphere and literally the best food I've ever had. I had the ceasar side salad and the blueberry grilled chicken. I think I annoyed my family with my constant comments of how amazing every bite was. Our server was also perfect and we got our food quickly.

There are not a ton of options in Zoar, but fortunately this is a standout in a small town. I had the steak and it was very flavorful and hearty. We ate outside and my only complaint is that the chairs aren't that comfortable out there. I would likely choose to stay inside next time. Service was friendly and the ambiance was nice otherwise. On a Saturday evening the little historic town center was very quiet. We took a walk after our dinner and it was peaceful and relaxing.

I used to go to the Zoar tavern a lot back in the day…..we knew it changed hands several times …now it’s Donnie’s Tavern. I actually went twice this week. I forgot to take pictures of the food! Wednesday was burger day with 6.95 burger and fries. It was delicious. (The fries were just ok in my opinion.). I went back on Friday and had the walleye sandwich and I upcharged for the Brussels sprouts side dish…. Both fabulous! They offer numerous specials. On Friday it’s all you can eat walleye! We didn’t get that but honestly I would have loved it…their walleye sandwich was excellent. Oh and the beer sauerkraut is excellent too….my husband got that as a side dish. The beer sauerkraut has a tiny bit of a kick to it if you like that, it’s great. The Brussels sprouts are absolutely everything you love in fried Brussels sprouts with cashews. Loved it! I definitely will go back again when I’m in the Zoar area. Great place to stop after golfing in that area.

Came in a few months ago and the visit was so/so. This time I was served by Courtney and it was amazing. Checked up on me a bunch, had a great smile, and it was wonderful food. Cudos to the cook as well. I always ask for a medium cooked burger and get more or less. The cook here made it to PERFECTION. Thank you, thank. Will be back soon!

This place was amazing! We sat on the patio where there was live music! We ordered the fried deviled eggs and the crab fritters as an appetizer and both were delicious! We ordered the sweet potato salad which was very fresh! For our entrées we ordered the Buccatini pasta and the New York Strip that was cooked perfectly! We ended with the banana cheesecake which was the best cheesecake I've had! Service was good and the owners checked on us to make sure everything was great! I highly recommend Donnie's Tavern! You won't be disappointed!
