Food fine. When seated with my service dog waitress gave a dirty look and stuck us by the kitchen. Then pushed to keep him under table. Not good for disabled. Had toddler with us and didn't offer a high chair. When brought highchair didn't take away extra chair.

Food wasn't bad and service was great. However, $12.00 for a waffle that you can get at a local hotel for free was excessive. We spent over $15.00 for one waffle and 2 pieces of bacon for an 8yo child. My 12yo ordered the same. Seriously, it's cheaper to take my kids to Texas Roadhouse for a steak dinner than to eat a small breakfast here.

First the good, I had the country-fried steak with mashed potatoes and salad. The homemade ranch was delicious but the lettuce could have been fresher. The steak and potatoes were good but the gravy wasn’t to my liking, personal preference I’m sure. My wife had chicken strips, mashed potatoes and green beans. The Strips were like homemade, the mashed potatoes (with no gravy per wife’s choice) were okay, the green beans were so-so. What stood out were the employees. Sorry I didn’t get names (11:15am on 6/21/25) but our waitress was attentive and friendly, we happened to overhear the managers interaction with another customer whose order was wrong (ordered no mayo but got it on their sandwich) and we very impressed! While the situation wasn’t dire and easily corrected, the manager still apologised profusely and rather than blame it on the cook or waitress took ownership of the mistake saying that it was his responsibility. This gesture is almost unheard of in society today. The food was good, their employees are great!

Today was the Salisbury steak special. I ordered mine to go, but I sat with my grandpa and could not help but notice the staff's dedication to hustling! Also, the steak was superb. The portions were very well priced. I even had leftovers. Thank you, 818 Diner!
