What a beautiful building! I've only eaten there once so far, and have plans to go again tomorrow to meet with family - Atoka is 1/2 way between us. The food we got last time was really good! Since we were visiting, we were there longer than most diners. They lett us alone with an occasional tea refill. I HIGHLY recommend Jackson's due to the food, staff & atmosphere!

I was embarrassed to take my French guest to what turned out to be the worst restaurant in the entire United States. Never have I walked out refusing to pay my bill.
I ordered the hamburger steak with grilled onions and mushrooms. It was supposed to be 1/2 a pound. It was perhaps 1/16 of a pound but it was so burned it might have started out as more. There were no onions and the mushrooms were raw. The waitress dropped one of my pieces of Texas Toast on the table top and told me to pick it up because she didn't want to touch it - it didn't occur to her to offer me a new piece but since we had already waited for an hour for our meal I didn't say anything. I paid $1.99 extra for sour cream on a baked potato, which was cold, and the sour cream amounted to, at most, half a teaspoon.
My friend's mashed potatoes were cold and instant, the gravy was canned and the "homemade" Mac and cheese was out of a box. The "homemade" onion rings tasted frozen and were undercooked.
The waitress did not seem all that upset when we left without paying. They must be used to it.

Really enjoy this place. We like to eat here during high school basketball season when we are traveling. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Love the history of the building.

My name is Jackson so I left a five star.
Walked in and waited 10 mins to be seated, wasn't even acknowledged we were there so we left.
What a waste of time.

To be able to find simple, good food off the side of the highway is a real blessing. Our family really enjoyed the stop off here.

Atmosphere here is amazing. I was impressed with the dining area, and with the large wooden bar.
The food and service, however, left quite a bit to be desired.
I don't recall leaving a poor review such as this. It's the first time I've ever, and I do mean EVER, walked out of a restaurant without leaving a tip.
My first concern was the macaroni and cheese was runny and bland. I just figured it was just a bad day and went on to the green beans, which were supposed to have bacon in it. It tasted like the green beans had been poured straight out of a can and heated in a microwave, and there was no bacon. I was told the truck didn't bring the right green beans.
Again, thinking maybe my smothered chicken will make up for the bland sides, I tried it next. Please keep in mind, I paid an extra $2.50 for grilled onions and mushrooms on the smothered chicken.
Guys, it was bland. The mushrooms were raw on top, and there were no onions
My best friend and kids were with me, and they had a similar issue with their dinners.
My friend asked for grilled onions on her patty melt, and I then asked about the chicken. The waitress apologized and stated that due to a near lawsuit from seasoned chicken causing an allergic reaction, they no longer season their chicken. She then proceeded to tell us they cook their smothered chicken in butter and water. They offered me grilled onions and mushrooms. I picked off the raw mushrooms, added the freshly 'grilled' mushrooms and onions. It was still terrible.
It seemed like there was extra salt added to the mushrooms to make up for the bland chicken?
My friend had expressed in the beginning that we were on separate tickets. She's left a review here also as the waitress comped my friend's entire meal, but only comped me 15% of mine. 15% only added up to $1.72, not even the cost of the added mushrooms and onions. I ate 2 bites out of the chicken, one bite out of the Mac, and one bite out of the green beans. My son's okra tasted odd, like it had been freezer burned.
In other establishments, I'd have been offered a different meal, a full comp, or for the chicken to be recooked, with an offering of seasoning.

The food was so bland and the excuse we were given was they had a new cook and that when they used to season their food they almost got sued because someone had an allergic reaction. My grilled onions weren’t grilled. My nephews okra had freezer burn. Just an awful experience, sadly.
She did comp my meal so there’s that.

i ordered my food to go the chairs are too hard to sit there that long , the service is slow . my chicken fried steak was burnt on the inside but the crust was not cooked , how do explain this unless they burnt it the first time removed the breading and breaded it a second time and re-fried . the okra was not fit for human consumption it was fried then heated in a microwave until rubber . my potato was not cooked at all just a warmed up whole potato wrapped n foil . my tea tasted of lemon i did not ask for . they left the bread out all together . it is not like they were busy there were more employees than customers wandering around and caring for their kids they brought to work with them 100% waste of money and time will not eat there again . they use to be good but now it is pathetic , a frozen tv dinner would have been a better choice .
this place need a overhaul in the front and back of the house and a menu that someone actually knows how to cook the items on it . this was literally the worst meal i have ever had in Atoka . would not recommend to anyone .
p.s. if the potato is not done just tell the customer instead of tying to pass off a raw potato for a baked one .who decided a lot sage was a good spice too add to brown gravy ?? yuck . not one good item in my go box , no napkins the plastic dinnerware could not cut the burnt steak the fork could not mash a raw potato .no salt or pepper . did not even deserve one star

Most unfriendly vibe when walked in, and a crowd to match. Dark and unpleasant! Turned around and left.

This restaurant is across from Reba’s place and is locally owned so we wanted to give it some business while we were going through Atoka. It was completely empty when we walked in and completely empty when we finished.
I ordered the sirloin with okra and mashed potatoes and my husband ordered hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.
Literally everything was horrible. Well, the okra was fine. Can’t really mess up fried okra thankfully. The sirloin was covered in liquid smoke in an attempt to make it taste charbroiled. Hamburger steak was dry. Instant potatoes and instant gravy on them and the hamburger steak.
Oh we also ordered cheese fries as an appetizer. It came out roughly three minutes before our meal. Lots of cheese, very, very little bacon.
They could easily change up their menu and do made-from-scratch on a few items, perfect them, and word would spread and I’m sure business would pick up.
