The environment and service was great. The food was good but if you're looking for seasoned Tex Mex style this is not the place for ya.

They have the worst forks I've ever used.

Not great.
I ordered a steak burrito.
It was basically just beans and rice very bland, underfilled and had almost no meat in it. And they completely overloaded it with sour cream. Definitely the worst burrito I’ve had in a while.

I wish waitstaff could be truthful I was gonna get queso on my enchiladas but I like the enchilada sauce so I ask how is the enchilada sauce very good he tells so I'm like sure easily the worst enchiladas and enchilada sauce I've ever had in my whole life the queso was good and the salsa and chips were good but all the food we actually ordered as a meal was horrible and room temp like it was sitting a while and the place was empty that should have been a clue there are to many good Mexican food spots to waste ur time on this place go elsewhere only bright spot was my son drove down from college to meet us for dinner next time we will go somewhere else

The food was just okay but the service was fantastic. The decor was underwhelming.

I hadn't eaten in this place for a while... but when I went again and had a meat... I didn't really like it... the meat I ordered was very seasoned... very salty

Food was great, came out fast, but the waiter was very pushy and asked if we were ready for the check every 5 minutes.

To whom it may concern, My husband and I visited El Maguey this evening for dinner. Upon eating, he noticed a sharp object against his gum and realized it was plastic that was in his food. He shared this with our server and he proceeded to get the manager and took the piece of plastic to the kitchen. The manager came over and insisted on how this piece of plastic couldn't have gotten into our food and not once apologized or understood how big of a concern this was. Imagine this doing serious damage to a person's teeth/gums or choking on this object. We proceed to get the check and notice that we have received a $3 military discount on my meal. We were really taken back by this $3 discount considering he had a sharp piece of plastic in his meal. We requested to speak with the manager. At minimum, we would have thought his meal would have been comp'd and we would have still paid for mine. In all honesty, I felt that our whole meal would be comp'd but boy was I wrong. I shared this with the manager, and he became extremely defensive/rude and insisted that my husband should have told him what I wanted. My husband and I are appalled by our experience with this server and manager. We understand accidents happen, but how you handle them and treat your customers is what ultimately matters. Our server's name was Adiel. We asked the server what his manager's name was, and he said Jose as he laughed and walked away. I highly doubt this is the manager's actual name. I am hopeful the community of Bartlesville will not have to deal with this going forward. I hope El Maguey in Bartlesville, Ok will make this right. This leaves an extremely bad taste in my husband and I's mouth and is a terrible reputation to have spread around in a small community.

My family absolutely loves this place. Freshest salsa in town, and the meat is a higher quality than other Mexican places (especially the chicken breast.) You pay a little more at El Maguey, but it's worth it. I recommend:
- El Maguey Sampler
- Fajita enchiladas (chicken or steak are both awesome)
- Bistec en plancha (Ribeye grilled steak topped with grilled shrimp, onions and mushrooms.)
- Happy burrito

I could recommend even more. Just give El Maguey a try!

The chicken fajita burrito is amazing! And they're very kid friendly.

Kid-friendliness: They have super fun highchairs, and they seem to love kids.

Food and service are always awesome! The food always comes out quick, hot, correct, and tasty, especially if it's covered in queso!

DISCLAIMER: I'm honored to be a Top 10 Reviewer for Google. I do my best to be fair and honest but realize your experience may differ from mine. So, please keep that in mind when considering this restaurant, establishment, and/or venue. REVIEW: We ordered the Pollo Queso dinner and it was good, as was the chips and salsa. If you like hot sauce be sure and ask for theirs; it's pretty tasty. Server was just average. He was friendly but we had to ask for beverage and chip refills.
