C & J Kountry Fixin's and CJ's Bar

Let me give it to you straight: This place is a nightmare. It’s a bar and restaurant with some kind of mercantile/construction selling place on the side and what seems to be air bnbs. Over all the vibes of the place are very confusing. The restaurant is kinda nice if you’re into eclectic sign collections plastered everywhere. The service is alright since there’s not really a wait for tables cause the place seems to be mostly empty. The problems arise with the food. It takes a long time for food to get out and when it does it’s basically cold. An 8 oz steak cost almost like 30 dollars, and it’s not even a decent cut. The mashed potatoes tasted like box potatoes, not sure if they can’t afford real ones or just don’t care. They also seem to be severely understaffed which might be why food takes so long. Overall it just felt like the place was lifeless and dying. Judging from local talk it’s also the only hangout spot in the town, which kinda makes sense cause the town is small. The restaurant is nestled along Route 66, which is nice but— overall, I’d recommend not stopping cause the food and the cost of the food just isn’t worth it.

TLDR: Food is terrible. Atmosphere is bad. If you’re traveling down Route 66, skip bristow entirely and find a better place.

My granddaughters and I ate there at C & J s today for lunch. The salads were really good.

The lady that took our order was slow and didn't check on us as much. She filled our drinks one time. The food was great. Had to leave half of my food. Couldn't get a to go box.

Food and vibe in the bar side is awesome.
Service is extremely hit or miss depending on waitress. Brittney is phenomenal every time and very attentive even while working the restaurant side , busy or slow.

I’ve sat for 15-20 minutes before even being acknowledged when the entire restaurant only has 4-5 tables as I walk in, almost empty.

Food is always quick and amazing. Service half the time is the only reason not a 5 star review.

Great food, we loved the chicken fried steak and margarita lime chicken! Staff were super friendly and helpful, highly recommend for food and drinks!

What a great place to spend the evening with awesome food and great service.

First time with a bad experience and it was bad enough to not go back. My son’s cheeseburger was good, and the Mac and cheese was warm and good. THAT IS IT! Cost me almost $25 for boneless pork chops that you could not get the knife through I could not chew through and the waitress said nothing about the fact that I had these untouched pork chops left on my plate. The loaded mashed potatoes were so cold that the cheese never even started to sweat, much less melt. We have always had people who made sure we were doing good, drinks filled when they are low but those people must’ve had the day off. There were patrons at 2 other tables, one that belonged to our waitress, and one to another lady. Don’t have a costly mistake like I did. I didn’t get a picture of my loaded, baked potato soup, but it was the same thing. It was too cold to melt the cheese that was drizzled on top. I wish I could post pictures.

Great experience

Food had great flavor except mashed potatoes tasted old. Beautiful place. Our server only came to deliver food. Took awhile to get my water but that's fine. My salad didn't come till right before my food and never got refilled. Sever was nice. All in all good place. Will try again definitely
