The food was amazing. Service was quick. The gentleman was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was clean and tidy just nothing fancy. Absolutely would recommend.
Kid-friendliness: We took our 4 and 5 year old. The gentleman was so kind to our children. He had plenty of kid friendly options to eat.

Was looking for Mediterranean food Labor Day and all my favorites were closed, so I did a google search for Mediterranean food near me and Athens Gyro popped up. I made a quick call to the restaurant and the owner verified that he was open and invited us to come by. When we arrived, the owner welcomed us warmly. It is a small place with just a few tables, but clean and comfortable. We ordered the gyro special that came with fries and a canned soda (around $10), Greek salad (7.99) and hummus with pita (around $4). He was out of the tabouli, but hopefully he will have that next time we are in so we can give it a try. The grill and prep area was very visible. Our hummus and pita came out within a couple minutes and it was so flavorful. You could really taste the tahini and garlic well, which we loved. The gyro and fries and the Greek salad were out about 5 minutes later. We loved the gyro so much, as it had lots of delicious meat and tzatziki sauce but our favorite part was the crispy grilled pita. The fries were freshly cooked and the salad was fresh with crunchy veggies and feta. The salad dressing on the side was a good accompaniment. The owner checked to make sure our food was ok and to see if we needed anything else. He also brought us some complimentary baklava, guessing because it was our first visit, which we appreciated.
All of the food was really great and the owner was such a great guy, which I believe he said his name was Omar. We will definitely be back. Please support this local business that has such great service.

The man on the grill was very kind and asked us about our weekend. All smiles. The fries don't even need sauce (in my opinion) and the gyros were phenomenal

If you are having a bad day, eat at Athens Gyro.
I guarantee two things will happen: 1. You will leave with a smile on your face and 2. You will leave with a happy belly!
The owner is as friendly as a puppy at the animal shelter looking to be adopted. A contagious glowing smile and gushing sincerity to have you as a customer. The best word that I can use to describe him is jolly. He is too skinny to play a Santa Claus and the accent wouldn’t’ work, but with his personality he would make a good one.
My wife and I had the gyro special. A meat filled gyro, fries and a drink. (check the pics) We added a side of the hummus. The food is served up fresh, hot and fast. It is a delicious filling meal. Since this was our first visit the owner gave us a sampling of his fine baklava.
It is clean, minimal décor, and today the tv in the corner was playing a documentary “The Night of the Grizzly,” which made for interesting lunch conversation.
This little restaurant inconspicuously located just north of 51st Street on County Line (193rd) in the Stone Creek Retail Center. I remember when it opened a couple of years ago. I thought that it would never last a year. Well, it has been a couple of years now. The owner makes the difference!

We just got done eating here and it was wonderful! This man was just so happy when we walked in. Incredibly kind and talked to us while he was making our food. One of the best euros I’ve had. The fries were nice and crisp. This man takes pride in what he does you can tell. Absolutely recommended!

Ok, so obviously the people giving this place high ratings have NEVER had greek food!! I got a Gyro combo that came with 10 fries and a can of soda. This food is NOT made with the same love and passion that greeks believe. It was basically a skimpy deli sandwich on a pita that was falling apart and not falling apart because it had so much stuff in it, but because it wasn't fresh!!! The gyro meat was taken out and warmed up, the tzatziki was okay and hardly any on the sandwich. He offered no ketchup for the fries or anything. I have never gone into a greek place, ordered and been out in 5 min. Good fresh food takes a little more time. The only nice thing I can say is the guy behind the counter was nice and smiling!! $10.99 was way too much for what I got...$6.99-$7.99 may be a better price. I now have to shamefully report this experience to my Greek friends. Their gonna be upset and probably laugh at me!!
Owner was such a sweet person and I can tell when people are faking. He genuinely wanted to make sure I enjoyed my sandwich. He even thought to bring me extra sauce at no charge because I told him I liked it and he wanted to make sure I had enough. The food was delicious, I will definitely be back and support this small business.
