Los Cabos Mexican Grill and Cantina

So we order a to go order. I want steak and chicken GRANDE nachos. Pretty much wasted money. Where’s the meat. Enjoyed the cheese a chips. Never again. I will tell the public.

I chose Los Cabos in Tulsa for a small getaway, mainly because of the reviews and photos — it looked so beautiful and Instagram-worthy. When I arrived, the building looked exactly like the pictures: charming, festive, and decorated wonderfully for the holidays. The exterior has a hacienda-style design that looks gorgeous, and I’m pretty sure there’s a lake or small lagoon next to it. I visited at night during the cold season, but I can imagine how beautiful the view must be in the summer with the windows open and the outdoor balcony-style area.

Inside, the décor continues with a Mexican hacienda vibe, and with the Christmas decorations it feels like a warm hotel-lobby atmosphere. There’s a wishing fountain, a bar, and a spacious entrance area. Everything is beautifully arranged and well thought out. The staff was incredibly kind and very well trained — the service was excellent from the start. We were seated near one of the large windows overlooking the water, and even at night, the view was lovely. Overall, the place itself is truly stunning.

Now, about the food — as someone born and raised in Mexico, I didn’t find it to be authentic Mexican cuisine. It leans more toward Tex-Mex. I can’t say it wasn’t good, because it was tasty, but it didn’t give me that familiar, traditional feeling. It’s simply a different style.

With that said, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to Americans or anyone who enjoys Tex-Mex dishes in a beautiful setting. But for Mexicans looking for traditional flavors from home, this might not be the best match.

Lauren is an absolute amazing waitress. She thoroughly explains the menu and options and is always on her game. Level 100 on taking care of her customers. She goes above and beyond with service absolutely love her! Food is always amazing!!!

This place never disappoints! Excellent fast service hot food, fresh hot chips and 2 kinds of salsa, my husband and I split the huge combo including replenish, enchiladas, and crispy tacos.

Great place to eat at, and hands down some of the best service in Tulsa I've experienced so far. They've never disappointed here, and the service has felt top notch, and they will correct anything that isn't what you expected. They're quick and quality.

I wish I would have saved my $45 and went to Taco Bueno. We came in from out of town and seeing their reviews thought we'd give it a try. We ordered a shrimp taco platter and my wife got two chicken tacos. The rice was bland. The beans were a bean soup? The shrimp taco was mostly cabbage and what shrimp there was, were small and tasteless. The chicken on the tacos was dryer than the Sahara desert. Our server was super polite, and the decor and atmosphere was very put together. But it wasn't enough to make up for the food. So save your hard earned dollars, cook the tacos at home.
