Champuli Cafe is a lovely place for lunch located inside the Choctaw Cultural Center. The atmosphere, people and food are all amazing. The cafe serves uniquely Indigenous and authentic Choctaw food that is always delicious, excellent, and satisfying. Everything ordered is top notch and impressive.
Popular dishes include the meat pie, the Chahta Plate with its juicy pork chunks, beans, and banaha bread, and the meatloaf. The 3 Sisters soup, grain bowl, and pulled pork sandwiches are also raved about. Sides like fry bread, charred corn, and wild rice are very tasty. For dessert, the fried pies, including the cherry fried pie, are a definite must-have and can steal the whole show. The grape/blackberry dumplings go well with ice cream, and the lavender tea is awesome. Even the burger is great. The staff are kind, friendly, and helpful, and the service is speedy. With seasonal specials and no dish to dislike, it is a place not to pass up and worth a return visit.
