I love this restaurant, I first went here several years ago and went back about a month ago and the food is just like I had the first time. The Turek family are like family. The food reminds me of my time in the Army in Germany.

Excellent service last night and the food and drinks were fantastic! Very attentive servers and we are so glad this restaurant is back. My husband loves the Old Germany Steak and I chose the Parisen Pfeffersteak with filet medallions that were cooked to medium perfection. We went ahead and shared a chocolate mousse cake for dessert and it was delicious! There is a great selection of burgers and sandwiches for a more budget-friendly meal as well. Request seating in the wine cellar for a more cozy setting than Turek's side of the establishment. Love it, keep family-owned restaurants alive with your patronage!

Other than sauerkraut, I've never had German food before, so I don't know how good German food should taste. That being said, Old Germany Restaurant, for the most part, was some good German food. Zach G. and I were wanting to try a little bit of everything when we got here, so we decided to get bratwurst and schnitzel. We got the smoked bratwurst and knackwurst combo plate, which was okay. The smoked bratwurst was exactly what I hoped bratwurst would be. A nice snap when bitten into with a whole lot of flavor. I'm a fan of sauerkraut, so when I paired the two, it was even better. The knackwurst, unfortunately, wasn't nearly as good. Maybe it's because it's boiled rather than smoked, but it tasted like a grocery store hot dog. I'd say pass on that one. Also, the pricing on the bratwurst is a little high. It's $7 for one and a side of sauerkraut. It's a little understandable for the smoked bratwurst, but for the one that tastes like a hot dog... eehhh, I don't think so. The schnitzel was great! You can choose to have it either pan-fried or grilled. I would recommend the pan-fried version. Crispy, flattened, fried pork cutlets smothered in a cream sauce. In other words, it was delicious. Zach G. got his with potato salad, which was one of the better potato salads I've tried. I got mine with spätzle, which...tasted like...pasta. Plain, cooked pasta. I don't get it. There might've been some specific way to eat it, so I probably ate it wrong. Either way, I wasn't a huge fan of it. That side had me confused since there was so much flavor in the schnitzel and absolutely none in the spätzle. The service was good too. The owner/manager (I forget which one he was) was serving us, so we had all of the dishes explained and got personal recommendations from him. Along with him being friendly, there were a few other patrons that decided to chat us up. This place had a real cozy, Cheers-type vibe. I'm sure if you came here enough, everybody would know your name. Despite a couple of low points in the meal, Old Germany Restaurant was a good time. Zach mentioned that he wants to hit this place up again, so I might just join him when that time comes. As long as he's driving.

Such a unique atmosphere that is hard to find anywhere else. While you still get that “hole in the wall” type of warm friendly experience, it is so clean and well kept. Great food and appetizers!

I love that a random state like Oklahoma has delicious gems like Old Germany hiding among all the McDonald's and Braums. Brats and sauerkraut are one of my many food weaknesses, and when Jess M. and I heard about this place, we knew we had to visit. It's hidden away in the small town of Choctaw, and it's very easy to glance over this establishment. Apparently they had previously closed down, but reopened due to popular demand. The inside of the place looks great and is the exact kind of atmosphere you would want when eating German food. I don't know how to describe that, but just go take a look, and you'll understand. Also, if you love soccer, this is definitely a place you'll enjoy with plenty of memorabilia and TV's with games on. Our waiter was great and gave us his recommendations when he noticed it was our first time to visit. We each got a Pork Schnitzel and shared a Mixed Brat plate. The schnitzel tasted great and I'm craving it as I'm typing this. Nothing overly fancy; just a simple, home style kind of dish consisting of a fried pork cutlet with a great ratio of batter to meat. The sauces were both tasty as well and were a great accompaniment to the Schnitzel. I had the peppercorn while Jess had the mushroom, and both tasted similar and just seemed like a simple roux, but tasty nonetheless. As for the sides, the potato salad was good. Jess got the Spatzle Pasta and it just tasted like boiled pasta. He thinks he ate it wrong, and that very well may be a possibility as we're both new to German food. The brats are what we came for, and it ended up being a bit of a letdown. The Knackwurst (beef and veal sausage heated in water) just tasted like a hot dog. I understand how offensive that may sound, but that's just the best I can describe it. It was delicious with the amazing sauerkraut and spicy mustard, but I mean, what isn't delicious with that? The Smoked Bratwurst (grilled pork and beef sausage) was much better, but also just tasted like a hot dog, but with better flavor and a nice snap and texture. Maybe I don't know enough about brats, but that's why I hope to return try more. I don't think the price is justifiable for the size of the bratwursts either. I came in expecting Brats that are like a foot long similar to what you see on TV or something. Maybe that's unfair to hold Old Germany to a standard like that, but $7 for a single hot dog size brat and some sauerkraut doesn't seem worth it, much less filling. Although the brats aren't what I imagined, I do still plan on coming back as there seems to be so much more to the menu to try.

Always enjoyed tye atmosphere and food. We drove bu couple weeks ago and saw it said closed and heard this last week it had reopened. We just drove up to be told it is now closed on Sunday evenings. It was our favorite place during summer on Sunday evenings. Hope it will be open again one day. But how will I know?

I had always wanted to go here and see what the hype was. My old manager, Jen, her family owns the restaurant and bar. Anyways I was surprised for my birthday and was taken here. I knew it was priced moderately. But I saw the menu and was honestly surprised. Anyways ordered my food and ate all of it. Then went next door and had a couple beers. I'd recommend going here if you want the true authentic flavor of Germany
