The signs claim the food is "fresh & delicious"; I dined in (no buffet) and it was as advertised. Golden Chef has the cheapest prices in Claremore for Chinese cuisine, you can get 3 entrees for the price of 2 at Panda or New Star. Downsides include the awkward location for all but Owasso commuters and Rogers State students, the old building and limited parking. The decorations are tacky, but I find it charming. They're a mix of trinkets from Asian supermarkets splashed with Will Rogers memorabilia. If you don't like the dining experience there's also take out - either way, I'd recommend giving Golden Chef a try.

I had the buffet and I have to say it was pretty terrible. The noodles were CRUNCHY, and everything was soggy. Just not a very good experience. I will say great service but food needs to be prepared better or fresh.

The meat was overcooked and had no seasonings. Salt and pepper did nothing to help. My wife’s sesame chicken was glazed in sugar water and the spring rolls felt hard to chew and like the meat lacjed flavor.

Ordered from here for takeout & my family was rather disappointed in the food, we got several different items but I will explain what I tried & what my personal feeling on it was… I ordered the curry shrimp & honestly I enjoyed it! It tasted very good but felt a little too “chickeny” for me. The spice was perfect but the sauce kind of tasted like a spicy version of chicken ramen (it was a bit strong)… however I will say that it tasted AMAZING with my rice! The shrimp itself was average (nothing special) & I could definitely tell it was cooked plain & the sauce added later, so I give the curry shrimp a 7 (would be lower but I loved how it tasted in the rice), it also left a weird texture/ taste in my mouth after eating (gave me cup noodle vibes). I also tried some wontons which were very tasty! I only ate 1 egg roll because I wasn’t a huge fan, they were a good size & I enjoyed how it was cooked; but the middle was only cabbage which was kind of a let down (considering how big it was, it felt like too much cabbage; could of been fixed with some veggies or meat). I give the egg roll a 4/10. The last thing I tried was some of the sesame chicken that my fiancé couldn’t eat. She didn’t like it but I kind of did, but I wouldn’t have called it regular sesame chicken. It was sweet almost like it was glazed in honey or sugar! Kind of felt like the sauce had sugar where it should have had salt… overall my family didn’t like it & said they wouldn’t eat it again, but I gave it 4 stars because I really enjoyed some of it, plus they have LOTS of options for what you can order!

The food on the buffet was all very hot, fresh & above average quality, my son & I were very impressed. The man cooking was also the server & who I assume is the owner, & he was also fantastic. We will DEFINITELY be coming here a lot more!

This food is very delicious for the price. I have tried multiple dishes here, and I haven't tasted a bad thing there since I started going there 18 years ago. This restaurant has been open in Claremore since the late 1980s. Portion sizes are good. There is a weekday buffet from 11 am to around 3:30 PM, I believe that is a great price.Parking: Very small parking lot

They have been in exact same spot greater then 25-30 years and they are still just as wonderful now as they have ever been. Food is always made to order with freshest ingredients and seasoning. Their prices are better then anyone else in town. They are kind and have wonderful customer service.I don't know how, but the food continues to get better and better. Love the people, love the food and huge selection you can choose from. Whenever I or any of my family and friends want Chinese, this is the only place we go. THEY ARE AMAZING!!??Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians and the food is DELICIOUS!!! Best in Claremore and have been for 30+ years.
