We stopped in at a new restaurant today. we had breakfast skillets. Kathy's Mason Jar Family Diner is so worth the drive. Very reasonablely priced as well.

Always wonderful service, atmosphere is extremely laid back and food is superb! Never a disappointment taking the family here or dining alone. Every visit feels like home.

Sign showed open, hours on door said they were open but door was locked. Unable to know how the food or service would have been.

Quick stop in for some lunch. Wasn't busy at all. It's a seat-yourself type restaurant.

Breakfast is served all day with lunch/dinner options.

I had the meat omelet was good, and filling. And my mom ordered the BLT she enjoyed it.

Lots of parking. The gal who waited on us was helpful and friendly.

Lots of flies inside, not appealing.

If you are at the lake and need a place to eat. Try it out. But don't be in any hurry.
They are busy and seem to forget about you.
I had the catfish and fries and okra
Okra needed to be cooked longer. I like my crispy.
It's two small pieces of catfish with the size it would have been nice had it been three pieces.
Anyways if you need something to it's okay to eat here

If you go here, don't go on the weekend, the place was full, 4 booths with people who appeared to be waiting for food, very limited seating, no one grated when you walked in. Wait, staff were more busy hanging out together than filling coffee cups. Took 42 minutes to get food. 3 other tables were there before us. Once food was placed, no one came to ask if we needed anything. Eggs on both mine and my husband plates were cold and my grits were not cooked. My husband had to go to the bar to ask for to go containers. Once we had that taken care of, we waited another 10 minutes and just went to the bar to pay. My husband was kind and left a tip that most certainly was not earned. The only reason for 1 star on service is because you can't give zero. I have eaten here before and the service and food was great. I'm not sure what changed others that there were adults there before.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Where to start. Have seen this place many times and had really high hopes for having a really good small town cooked meal. Not at all what they have here. Walking in to a nasty dining room with broken T.V.s still on the walls and the décor looks like someone went to a community yard sale an got all the $1 leftovers and threw them on the walls. Maybe a sign that tells your guest to seat yourself would have been a better option instead of all the junk on the walls.

The server walked by us and saw us but didn't say anything to the 4 of us standing in the door way. she proceeded to clean 2 tables off before she rudely told us to sit anywhere we want. So we sat down and waited some more before the server finally came back to the table for our drink order.

when we got our drinks we ordered our meals. The salad bar is on the menu but was not available with no explanation the server could give us. The wait for our meals gave us plenty of time to feel more and more disgusted with our dinner choice. the buildup of dirt and dust everywhere is quite spectacular. The Bar area that is just open storage area for everyone to see.

waited over 15 minutes for my ummmm "house salad" $4.95 for 2 oz. of shredded lettuce you would get at subway, quarter ounce of shredded cheese, a couple thinly sliced red onion rings and a pickle. I was in amazement that anyone would think that is a house salad. But it was premonition of how horrible it was truly about to be.

My 5 year old son got the "Kids cheeseburger" and a pinch of fries. Looked like about 2 ounces of slider patty on a "homemade roll" the tomato slice was bigger than the meat and the roll was not cut correctly for his SLIDER so the bottom didn't even have much to hold on to.

My 11 year old got the patty melt. The meat on his was nasty to the point he would not eat the sandwich and only ate his fries.

My wife got the Hickory Burger. the limp onions were not grilled but rather old, they used American cheese not even cheddar as the menu reads. again the meat was inedible. again the fries were the only thing eaten by her.

I got the staple of any American dinner that I get every time I try a new spot. It is hand dipped I saw one going to another table and thought to myself how can anyone mess this dish up. Well Kathy you take the trophy here for the nasties chicken fried steak in Oklahoma. the meat was so tough, the breading didn't hold to anything, the wonderful cooks put COLD Canned Gravy over everything. The Mashed Potatoes were just that 100% just potatoes nothing else added, also cold and the okra must have been sitting fried back there from other orders because it was cold chewy and just not edible.

When I tried to bring the issues to the server she didn't care. No manager or owner on site to handle any complaints. When asked why the potatoes are that way her response " dietary restrictions" for what hospital or nursing home I don't know. But that explanation, the dyspeptic server, the lack of leadership and the fact we didn't want to eat this filth I would tell everyone this is not worth your pocket change.

The only positive about the entire dinner was the Pepsi in the mason jars. I would say they could not mess that up but I would be afraid the combative service staff would say "Hold my syringe" and mess that one up as well.

I have tried to reach out to the owner and she has still not returned any of my calls. Guess Kathy just does not care about her business.

Dietary restrictions: They have no flavor or any added anything to their food. It is not even suitable for hospital or nursing home food.
