Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and some really good brews. I am not a big IPA person, but their coffee IPA was amazing.
Best beer between Tulsa and the Kansas border; top quality and a surprisingly large variety for such a small operation. Calm and laid back atmosphere whether you choose to ditch the kids with a babysitter or bring the kids and play some board games.
wonderful atmosphere and brews
It was amazing because my mother is friends with the owners!
Friendly folks at the bar. The venue is spacious and nice. You can sample the beer before deciding. They will fill to-go cans of any beer.
Great brewery, talked with the owner for 30 minutes
Nice wide selection of true-to-form beers in a really cool rustic space and wonderfully friendly staff and patrons.
Best brewery in the area!
James has cultivated a comfy, classy, and rustic experience in this restored, historic building in Downtown Dewey. The old brick and homey wooden floors, accents, and handmade tables call you in, and say "Welcome home, have a seat, and enjoy fellowship with friends and family."
James will talk to you about anything. He and his wife are truly great hosts, and are welcoming and kind to everyone.
To have quality, local, small-batch brew is something to really appreciate. My absolute favorite is the "Outpost IPA" that he has/brews whenever possible. Truly one of the best IPA's I've ever had. COFFEE? IN AN IPA? Who would've thought? "sounds offensive" you might say... well you would be wrong. I don't know how he does it, but the floral notes of the IPA, the awesome taste and mouth feel with light coffee notes in the nose...what the heck James, I didn't know that was possible.
That is when you know your brewer is a true craftsman who really takes the science, time, yeast, malts, hops, and everything else really seriously. He puts blood, sweat, and tears into his craft (not literally, that's gross ;-) )
But seriously: I've never had a beer here that I did not enjoy. James puts serious time into everything he brews, and carefully chooses an appropriate yeast that makes each one shine in its own unique way. As an example: I don't usually like Pilsners, it's just not my thing...but I liked James' Pilsner.
Stouts, Porters, California Common, IPA, Dunkel, Pale Ale, Sour, Weizen, Lager, you name it! He's got it.
They also have various games you can play, and yes, it is family friendly--The kids love the board games and corn hole!
His prices are also perfectly fair, especially for the quality you are getting. Not only that, but you can get a fresh can sealed to-go to take home and enjoy later! It's really neat to have that option. Plenty of times, I tried something that was so great, I needed to get a can to take home so my wife could enjoy it!
This is probably turning into a novel, and I could go on, but I'll just sign off with saying: I love Scissortail - support local - support quality craft! Life is too short for crappy beer. GO TO SCISSORTAIL!
Great variety of types of beer so any beer drinker should find something they like. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I have been here a few times and it is an absolute wonderful experience each and every time. This most recent time they were doing a fundraiser for their patio and it was a delight. The beer selection is diverse and they are always happy to talk you through the menu if you haven't been there before. They even have a few toys for the young children. They have made this place from the ground up and you can see the amount of heart put into everything.

We went to Bartlesville for work. My coworkers and I decided to take a detour from Tulsa airport to try out the Scissortail brewing company beer. That was one of the best decisions! We all are hooked with Tenacity, the Raspberry Sour Ale. We bought some cans so we could go back to the hotel and enjoy more later that evening! James is a great host! We had a fun conversation over TSA policies on bringing beers through security. Locals are very nice too. They joined the conversation! We will definitely visit again when we go to Bartlesville again!
Great selection, very good beer, high quailty. Definitely coming back
Amazing locally brewed beer. Beautiful restored building. Friendly atmosphere.
Amazing people and amazing beer
Great beer and excellent service! They have a wide range of beers to choose from, with new beers and seasonal brews added often. My favorite is their standard pale ale, Outlaw Valley, but their Outpost coffee IPA is unique and amazing. Their Tenacity raspberry sour is great, and, from a technical standpoint, their dunkel lager Dead Broke and 1267, a milk stout, are award winning. I’m biased, but the beer here is genuinely excellent.
