Host/to go girls are either purposefully overcharging people, or they just need to be trained better. $17 for a burrito with no meat in it is ridiculous. It was cheaper for me to order all of the ingredients a la carte and make 2 burritos put of it. And then gave me an ugly look when that is just what i did. Poor service. I doubt I will come back. Even if their famous Rellenos are good. As someone new in town, you would think they would try a bit harder to keep business.

The chili relleno was very good, as was the white fish. Catfish tasted like dirt, which was depressing for a place with catfish in the name. Our server was great, but we didn't catch her name

Best Chile Relleno in the world. I’ve been around the world a couple times, truth.

We had an awful experience with Captain Mack's Catfish Sunday evening. We ordered what we had ordered before, plus extra hush puppies. I couldn't really smell the fish until I got home and opened the cartons. Either the oil was old or something was burned in it because the fish tasted nasty. The outside looked beautiful, but the inside was gray and in some places kind of gooey. I took one bite of one piece and the taste was unpleasant. I broke another piece of fish to look at it and that's when I saw the kind of grayish gooey spot. I refused to eat any more. My husband, who is more generous than I, ate at least two pieces of his dinner then immediately felt nauseous.I believe it was because it was late in the evening. It was still an hour and a half before closing, but there wasn't a single customer in the restaurant. Perhaps they rushed to cook the fish and the oil was too hot and/or overused, resulting in fish that looked done but was not. It's probably safe to eat there at lunch, or early in the evening, but I'm not going to try it again. We spent $35 on food that we threw away. Neither my husband nor I enjoy wasting food. Altogether it was a very unpleasant experience, one I shan't repeat.
Love the fish platters!
Good catfish Sunday lunch buffet
I love the food here but also like to order for carry out. Over 75% of the time something gets left out of my order. If I pick it up I always check now before leaving because I live a half hour away. Most of the time I find something missing and just let them know. However today I stayed home and called in an order that my husband picked up for me. Sure enough when he brought it home the quacamole was missing. I checked the ticket and was charged for it. Wish they would check carry out orders better.
Pretty good fish, I'm not a big fish fan personally, but the fish here is good. You should try the Mexican here while you are at it Captain Mack and El Palacio is in the dame building.
Restaurantji Recommends
Two types of fish one is white the other is catfish.
Decent food. restaurant is inside a Mexican restaurant that's good. Portions are okay. I would recommend the Mexican side of the menu.
The catfish was very tasty. It was not overly breaded nor salty. In my opinion it was just the right amount of food for the price. Also, Capt. Mack's Catfish shares the space with El Palacio Mexican Restaurant so I also got complimentary chips and salsa. The staff was very attentive and respectful.
Staff was friendly, but that's where the compliment ends. We were passing through town, wanted a sit down meal. We didn't think it was open when we drove up, went in and absolutely no customers besides us on a Saturday night. Chips or salsa was spoiled, maybe both. Salsa had almost no flavor. Husband had to put hot sauce in it to give it a zing. Catfish was watery and greasy. Sweet tea didn't taste right. My husband got a burger and took it with him. When we got back to hotel, he said burger was tasteless and fries were stale, tasted dry. All in all it just wasn't worth it. We'll never stop here again. Very unimpressed.
