It's been several years since I've dined at this restaurant. Now that we moved to the other side of town we just don't make it back here very often.
This is comfort food the way you want it to be! My wife had been wanting to eat catfish for the past few weeks but just couldn't decide where to get it from. The she mentioned Boomerang and I thought why not we've not been there since 2019; I have an app that keeps track of the restaurants I visit.
A 50's/60's style diner serving up food you love. Usually we come here for breakfast but today it was for dinner.
First time I've had their Chicken Fried Steak and it was worthy. A much thinner style that what I'm used to but it was worth the try & it turned out to be very good. Couldn't decide on style of gravy so I got both! As a side I choose the coleslaw, I liked that it was served cold! Wasn't necessarily my favorite because I felt it has to much onion for my liking.
Matthew the Assistant Manager gave us great tips and definitely recommended the AYCE Catfish. Not that my wife was going to eat that much catfish she only reordered once. I had to give it a try and as suggested by Matthew it was light & tasty! The first order comes out with 5 pieces of catfish followed by 3 pieces each time you decide you want more.
The great thing about the meal is that it wasn't overly heavy which meant . . . . we could share a dessert! There is only one option which is the fried pie and perfect for sharing! We got ours a la mode which is their vanilla bean! Definitely worth it!
I love the fact that there were all sorts of memorabilia on the walls and this added to the overall feel for the diner. It may be a while before we get back here again but if you're looking for a change of pace look no further than right here!

Food is great, when it’s in stock. They will never remember you sauces so check for them. Cool atmosphere though.

I went in and had dinner with my toddler and baby. The manager, Matthew, was AMAZING! He was so so kind and so accommodating to my toddler who has special needs. He took such great care of us and took an experience that could have been extremely overwhelming and turned it into an experience that was filled with kindness and going above and beyond. Thank you Matthew! Your staff is lucky to have you as a Manager!

The first thing I noticed is the prices for the fried sliced pickles was over $8. Ya'll crazy. Decided fries and a shake but when I hit the button, waited over 10 minutes with no response. There was only one other vehicle waiting. Left and went to Sonic instead and got tempura fried pickle spears for $1.99. Boomerangs needs to realize sides are sides and shouldn't be more than $5. Boomerangs needs to provide service if they want money.

The last 2 times I've been to boomerang they got my order wrong I told them three times what I wanted on my burger and they still screwed it up. Wast of money

Waitress was extremely rude. She was shaking her head while we were ordering and as we were ordering said “wow that’s a lot of calories” which completely shocked us. 0/10 experience which is sad because I liked the place. Waitress was wearing a high bun and a red bow with black hair.

Whenever I was ordering our server literally said the words "that's a lot of calories" and made a face and literally did not check on us one time after we got our food. I was actually in complete shock

Inconsistent “imaginethat” Days
They started out great a few years ago when they opened but about a year later the service was terrible. There managers were rude and the young blonde girl who worked the window alot was even worse, then they made her a manager. Each year the fish gets smaller and they change something. Not what they started out as. It's a shame. They do have good hamburgers and the fresh food quality is great.

This is a nice little diner, the atmosphere is very cool as a diner should be. Service was outstanding, food was also good. If you’re looking for a quick place to stop with a diner atmosphere I recommend this place. Our server was very good and mistake free.

Service was good in the past. Has gotten horrible with part of your food not coming at the same time. Had to wait on sausage one time and they forgot the toast the next. Will not be back.

The chicken fried steak over gravy with mashed potatoes and gravy took 20 minutes. NOTHING CAME WITH GRAVY! The steak was 2 millimeters thick and burnt. The mashed potatoes were starchy and tasted like cafeteria food. The toast was good at least. I also got the fries with cheese and bacon. The fries were average. The cheese was melted on cheddar that had solidified by the time I ate it. The bacon bits were good. Overall terrible. I threw the chicken fried steak away. I’ve had a burger from here before and it was fine. I wouldn’t get anything else.
