We pick a new spot to eat on our way home when we can when we’re on the road and today’s new spot did not disappoint!  Janice‘s café in Elk City has a wonderful menu and excellent home cooked meals!
Janice and her sister Deedee take excellent care of their customers and make sure they get their food just right! Deedee fixed up a special bacon foldover sandwich that was out of sight for my sister! And as mama would say the cheeseburger and onion rings were to die for! 😋

The chicken fried steak was seasoned fantastically, as were the fresh onion rings and fried okra.
The entire staff were the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to experience. It was almost surreal because nobody seemed disingenuous, but every single person was friendly to where if this were a horror movie, I'd be worried about my kidneys.
11/10 would recommend pending my kidney status in 24 hours.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We were staying a couple nights in Foss Oklahoma on our way back from the Grand Canyon, headed home to NC. We stopped in for breakfast and it was delicious, the service was excellent and the owner is amazing. We came back the next day and had the same wonderful experience! If you are in Elk City or Clinton area give them a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Definitely a locals only spot chicken fried state was 70% batter the baked potato was coved in a layer of dirt and I was still missing one of the order sides but the mozzarella sticks was the best thing ordered
Breakfast all day is my kind of place! Service was excellent and the food was delicious and well-prepared. I had eggs, grits (though not in the menu!🙂), and toast. Husband had the dinner special, taco salad. Grandson had the 1/4 lb burger. We had been on the road all day and it was a great choice to stop for dinner.

We were passing through and decided to stop here for dinner. They were out of coleslaw, fresh fruit and corn. Disappointing, but had other foods to choose from. The girls who waited on us were sweet. We enjoyed it. Almost as good as Ky's home cooking. 😉

Jessica was my server and she and their cook were so amazing to my daughter and me when we stopped in for some dinner. We had eggs breakfast, calf fries, and bacon wrapped sirloin dinner. Everything was delicious and very good prices!
You won’t leave hungry! Family friendly, good food and great service! If I’m ever in Elk City again I will definitely be back!

If you want some delicious home cooking and super friendly service then you must visit Janice’s Cafe in Elk City, OK! My daughter and I are traveling from Florida. I was so sick of travel food (sandwiches and snacks) and I just wanted some good hot food.
We just finished eating and Jessica was my waitress. I cannot tell you how wonderful she was and the cook came out to check on us as well. They were both so kind and considerate and the food was delicious! My daughter got the egg breakfast and it came with the BEST sausage gravy I’ve had in years with a very fluffy biscuit! I had the bacon wrapped sirloin dinner and it was so good and filling and the calf fries were a treat! Thank you so much! I wish I took more pictures but here’s the only two I took. We ate most of our food before I even thought about it 😋🤤

Homemade French fries. Great shake. Wonderful and busy waitress. A classic. Also, Elk City is a lovely town. Everyone takes pride. Not just Saltines, but they serve Captain's wafers. Very fresh salad with homemade Ranch.
