Stopped in a few weeks ago. Queso was watery and awful (and pushed on my by the waitress who asked 4x if I wanted queso...)The plate of food was very mediocre. Probably worth about $5. Everything was thrown together poorly, didn't have much taste, and we ended up going somewhere afterwards just to get a real meal.It's like the owner needs to go out to eat more, because if they did, they would know their food is below standards.

No, no, no. As a resident in Buncombe Creek I was praying this place would be good. It is awful. The margaritas are neon green. The birria tacos are not done properly at all. The white queso is thin and almost tasteless with weird chunks in them due to reheating. This place is awful all around. $60 dinner for two people? Laughable. The 5-star reviews must be fake or affiliated. Go to Ollie’s Jukebox or pretty much anywhere else but here!

Quiet place. Food was ok. Service could have been a little better. Waitress never stopped back to ask if we needed anything. We had to wave her down. Other than that the food was pretty good.

Stood at the front door waiting to be greeted for almost 7 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Finally got seated. Waited another 8 minutes before anyone brought chips and salsa and took our drink order. Waitress was unorganized and slow. The salsa was terrible, tasted like ketchup I had the fajita chicken quesadilla and the wife had the carne assade. There was barley any chicken on the quesadilla, it was 95% cheese. The carne asade was so tough and chewy, they needed to bring a chainsaw to cut it. The restaurant was dirty, tables needed to be bussed floor swept. Needless to say we won't return.
If you’re looking for good service, fresh food, very clean, Matas is definitely the place to go !! You get your food fast all at once WHILE it’s still hot!! I highly recommend going!

Food made my wife sick. She had 2 bites and couldn’t take anymore. Also, they charge you for TAP WATER here. And then add credit card transaction fees after you give them your card. I asked about it then they had the nerve to give me attitude about why I even asked and blamed that’s a thing in Texas. I live in Texas. No it’s not. I will not be back and will be sure to spread the word about this awful experience
