Been eating at Pete’s for almost 40 years. Wife and I had the Italian dinner. A beer and water. Salad ,cheese and olives were great. Spaghetti and sauce were up to par. Garlic toast too. Meatballs . Not so much. Beef used in the meatballs and ravioli were not right. Weird smell. Hope this was an off night but not sure about my desire to go back anytime soon.

best beer I ever had, looking back about 10 years ago now . . .The marinara sauce on the spaghetti was top tier also.

When a single person comes out to eat they generally have no desire to sit by themselves in a room the size a master walk-in closet. They came to be a part of something no feel like they were being punished.

We arrived and were seated in a room down a long hallway. The chairs were left over from the 80s, those iron black kind with the stained and fading patterns. The heavily tattooed and pierced waitress brought a menu. She was very kind and honest, and she answered our questions. We placed our order. Soon, our waitress brought a bowl full of chopped iceberg lettuce covered in an oily dressing to the table. Apparently, this was the salad - just a pile of greasy lettuce. Then, she brought a tiny basket of garlic bread that tasted delicious. How can anyone mess up garlic bread? Our antipasta plate consisted of a few small pimento-stuffed olives, about 6 squares of unidentifiable cheese, and a couple pepperoncini peppers. I felt like I was getting to pay for someone's kids school loans or maybe mafia bills because they certainly spared every expense in bringing me my food. It was cheap. The main course consisted of a large pile of spaghetti covered in a heavy red sauce. Well, actually, everything was covered in a heavy red sauce. The sauce was bland with no real memorable flavor other than tomato-based. The two meatballs were what sealed the deal for me. If you have ever lived on a farm and had a billy goat, then you can imagine what those meatballs tasted like. One bite ,and I could taste the way a billy goat smells. YUCK! We also ordered lasagna, and it was made about as cheaply as possible. There was no Italian sausage in it, and the flavor was ehh. The temperature though, was tepid. Not hot, and a little cool in the middle. I will never go back and waste another $50.00 there. They are making a killing off of first-time visitors because I can't imagine anyone ever going back there for that mess. We declined running up anymore of a bill when we were offered dessert. We decided to cut our losses and leave. We also left all the pile of tepid food on the table; whereas, we would normally have taken a to-go box and eaten another meal. This gets the notoriety of being the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. It actually ranks up there with one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. The first being a Mexican restaurant in Syria where they tried to recreate the taste of the food from pictures. My advise, save your money and let the mafia take out Pete's other leg.

Had a wonderful visit with the family. Cozy atmosphere, great food, great service. And that garlic bread!

Great private dining as a family. Food was fresh and served family style which meant there was plenty of ravioli and spaghetti to go around! Everything tasted freshly made and the lady who waited on our table gave us excellent service.

For the past 30 years, we have regularly traveled through the area and have heard of a wonderful “must try” Italian restaurant close to McAlester. We finally stopped for dinner. Based on our experience, we will not choose to eat there again We arrived about 7 on a weeknight and after a short wait were seated at a table in a small room that had a few tables in in. It was a very odd table arrangement with both our chairs facing the corner walls/backs to the room and no room to rearrange that placement. Two servers came and went seeing to other diners without acknowledging us. After waiting patiently, we sought out assistance at the host desk. Attentive service soon followed so our initial experience would have been forgiven but we just did not care for our meal. We both ordered the Italian dinner and found the marinara has a very bland unusual taste that of course permeated our spaghetti, ravioli, and meatball dinner. Perhaps we would have had better luck with a different entree but neither of us cared for the sauce that Pete’s Place serves with Italian dishes. On the bright side, the assorted semi private rooms at Pete’s place would be a good venue choice for a larger group. The dinners are served family style so the Italian side dishes are plentiful and boxes are provided to allow you to take leftovers home. Had we enjoyed the sauce it would have been a delight to take our’s with us.

We’ve eaten here twice now and I’ve had two different entrees and so has my husband. We’ve both enjoyed everything we have had. I don’t think the value is really that bad either because it’s so much food and they let you take home what you don’t eat. My only complaint really is that the spaghetti sauce is a little bland and runny. It’s not bad at all, but I feel like it could have a more robust flavor and I prefer a thicker sauce that sticks to the noodles better. I’m sure we’ll be back regardless. My favorite thing from both visits is the meatballs, they are delicious!

My boyfriend took me to this quaint place for the first time last week. Great food and excellent service!

Unique place with a very nice atmosphere! Food is average but good. The meatballs were by far the best. Nice and full of flavor. The sauce is lacking much flavor which makes the spaghetti and ravioli lack luster. Great service! This place is definitely worth a try.

I have heard about Pete's place for years from neighbors who have gone. It's kind of an Eastern Oklahoma icon. Had a free Saturday so we decided to make a road trip to Krebs and try Pete's. It was odd, being seated in a tiny room with a few family photos slapped on the wall. Our server was great, but the food, yeah, not so much. We went an Italian restaurant in Tulsa a few days ago, run by an Italian immigrant - food is outstanding. This was not remotely in the same continent, let alone ballpark. As others have mentioned the sauce is revolting. I'd take store-brand jarred sauce over that. No flavor whatsoever, it is red and wet, closer to ketchup than marinara - no seasoning at all. The pasta was at least not overcooked, but the ravioli had no flavor either. The meatballs were ok. But $29 for chicken parm that had no flavor? yeah, complete disappointment. It was edible but was definitely food service/frozen/pre-made. The best part was a day out with my husband going somewhere we'd never been. Sad & disappointing, three hours driving and I could've had better in my own kitchen with premade, store bought ingredients. Save your time and money.

I was so excited to be able to stop in and place a to go order from Pete’s Place. I live two hours away and asked them to separate items so it would be nice and fresh when I got home. Food was spilling out of every container except one and the sauce, spaghetti and ravioli were so BAD and inedible that I had to dump it in my trash. This is not acceptable!! It used to be THE place to go but No More.
