Food was absolutely great. Service needs to improve. Our server was new, but gave her grace, we all have been there. Experience wasn't as great as the first time we visited, but I would still recommend.

Not only was the food great but so was the service . What a cute little nostalgic place to eat.
Love the details. From the reader glasses on every table. Roses handed to the ladies at the table. The chef came out to greet us. Wonderful food, history in/on the walls, warm, cozy and elegant all at the same time.
5/3/ 2025 The Artichoke is a beloved, cozy restaurant in a cottage near Grand Lake. It has changed owners, yet the food and atmosphere seem to have remained the same. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times and always enjoyed it. The cocktails and wine selections are nice also. I think I've always had a crab cake but this time got the special of the day, lobster thermidor. Beautiful presentation and tasty. It was especially good with the lemon squeezed over the top (needed the lemon!). Crispy Brussels on point, complimentary bread had roasted garlic and herbs and was so good dipped in the steak soup. The menu says it's the same recipe as Plaza III from Kansas City. The side salads are generous and fresh, with homemade salad dressings. My friends got the rib eye and enjoyed it. There's also a surprise and delight factor. When you sit down there's a complimentary plate with spinach artichoke dip and crustini. And a rose for the ladies . Reservations highly recommended especially during Lake season!

This place is in an old farmhouse type of structure and the atmosphere is different than any other restaurant. The food is home cooked, phenomenal, and pricey but worth every penny!

Recently visited again. Last time it was off the chart delicious.
This time it was so hot inside the restaurant.
Husbands steak was so much fat.
The stuffed mushrooms YUMMY!! The salads good.
Shrimp fettuccine very tasty.
Cost expensive ~ somewhere that was a must for us in the past summers ~ probably not again.
$120.00 plus tax and tip for an appetizer, steak and shrimp fettuccine is very expensive.

If you make a reservation request to eat in the bar area because if seated anywhere else it’s too loud! Food is nothing to brag about I would say it’s subpar. Food tasted like it was bought at Sam’s or Costco. The tossed salad was the best item of the meal.
