I was in town for work and decided to stop by and give them a try & was not disappointed. I had Chicken wings, potato salad, and yams. Everything was very good.

I never do reviews on a business and maybe I should start I don't know. But this is definitely a time to start with this establishment! So here I am driving on i-44 turnpike listening to The Teskey Brothers In my work truck when I had the urge to have some soul food. Google is a simple solution to just type it in the search bar for soul food. And load and behold Sam's BBQ and soul food popped up in my results. What I noticed was it was 4:30 p.m. yet the hours of their business so that they closed at 5:00 p.m. I thought this was a mistake. But I still wanted to have soul food so I made my way to this establishment. I walked in with them pretty much lights off cleaning up for the night. I felt really guilty but I smell the Roma's coming from the kitchen and they seem like they were willing to take my order. I ordered the fried catfish three pieces, green beans, and I asked about the potato salad if it was mayonnaise or mustard. The gentleman informed me that it's a mix of both. I thought that was very interesting never heard of that. It's either one or the other. I also ordered two ribs and peach cobbler since they did not have pecan pie as it was most likely sold out. I got to tell you!!! If the National geographic had camera on me I would look like a damn hyena with blood guts all over my face because the food was that good! I sincerely thought the food was going to be dry, bland, and probably been sitting out for a couple hours and boy did I just miss judge this whole place! Why they close at 5:00 p.m. is only something they can answer but man if they were open 24 hours a day I would make a stop at 3:00 in the morning just to have anything that they serve up! I'm kind of a concierge when it comes to good cuisine as I was a sous chef, I love barbecue, and it's hard to find good catfish or peach cobbler without their breading being heavy or a beer batter mix which is just gross in my opinion. I highly, let me emphasize that, I highly recommend that you bring your family, your friends, and even the person you're trying to squash some beef with and sit them down and have a meal at this place!

I absolutely love it here I just don't like that they changed the pricing and the meal servings are a lot smaller, so they give you less food but want you to pay more. If you're looking for a good taste and the feeling of home cooked meals you should check it out. Specials daily. Hours of service suck though this used to be my go to but by the time I get off they're already closed. Would love longer hours for this establishment. The food is great and family run which is a beautiful thing. Old school feel with a homestyle flavor. Fried chicken is to die for.

The food was great except there was a hair baked into my corn bread , first bite glade I noticed it before it was the in my mouth that would have ruin my whole lunch. I'm sure if the waitress would have come back to check if we were good she would have fixed it . The pork chop was good had great taste
We decided to try a local Lawton restaurant. Wow! This is a hidden gem! My husband and I both had the smoked chicken lunch. The chicken was tender and flavorful! Our sides, okra, mushrooms, fries, and baked beans were delicious and perfectly cooked, too! The outside of the restaurant isn't eye-appealing, but the inside is clean and the food incredible! We will be back if we visit Lawton again!
