The closest thing to home cooking eating out you can get in Locust Grove, Salina, and Chateau area....(Mayes county I think ?) So friendly and treat me just like family everything I come in and they usually know exactly what I'm getting!!!!They're the best!!!!♡♡♡

My first visit was great. One of my old coworkers recommended it to me. The food was delicious! I was really surprised by how fresh and clean everything was. The fried chicken was my favorite and probably the best fried chicken I’ve had anywhere.It was about $14 after tax for the lunch buffet. I also got a takeout box for my partner at home who got mouth surgery recently and could only eat soft food. They have plenty of mashed potatoes, green beans, bread rolls, soup, and other soft food. It was $28 for a takeout box for one, which I thought was a bit pricey, so next time I’ll try to convince my partner to come and enjoy the food in-person.

I love Country Cottage. As far as a buffet goes it’s about as good as it gets. All the food tastes homemade (and I presume it is?) nothing tasted like it’s from frozen. The fried chicken is great, the chicken fried steak is great, salad bar is big with plenty of options. The hot food has plenty of homemade dishes that will suit any and everyone. I can’t think of any buffet I’ve had I liked as much. They also have a lot of desserts but I never tried any so I can’t speak to them. But if you have a sweet tooth then they all look really good.

The strawberry lemonade in the mason jar was neat. The food was fresh. They brought 1 strawberry lemonade in a regular glass, told us they were not going to charge us for it but ended up charging us for 4 of the drinks, we only ordered 3. I didn't notice that until after we paid and we were on our way. Then there were no drink refills. Usually when we go it is much better on service.

For an $8 buffet, it was ok. Unfortunately, it was $13 plus surcharge, plus tip. The the kids liked the fried chicken, but all of the other items looked and tasted like they came out of a can. Way too much salt on everything and really no other flavor. Most of the veggies were a bit soggy.
